Taking a Long Break...

I've been feeling really unaccomplished lately. Unproductive.
Having the need to blog, to instagram, to take note of stuff is taking a toil on me.
For Year 2015, it might be a bit late for new year resolutions but I guess so long as you'd like to make good changes in your life, nothing's too late.

This year, I want to give my all to God, to work, to having a healthier lifestyle,
to making more money, to spending more time with loved ones.

Hence why I'm going to:
Stop Blogging
Stop Instagramming my Photos
Stop Spending time on Social Media
(Twitter, Facebook, Blog etc. I might check out Instagram now and then...)

And concentrate on:
Reading the Bible
Spending time with God
Memory Scripture
Focusing on Work
Working Out (might take up Yoga or Pilates)
Eating Healthier even on weekends
Creating more cards for that extra money

I guess that's all for now...
I'll catch up with you probably a year from now.
Till then, stay healthy & stay happy!
Adieus!

CNY Goodies from Bengawan Solo

I met up with a gf for lunch one day. During lunch, she was telling me how much she like the cookies from Bengawan Solo. I never bought cookies from Bengawan Solo. I rarely even stepped in. I've only tried and liked the corn kueh there. Hearing that, I decided to check it out with her. ^^

My Mom loves this but somehow, she didn't want this, this year.
She has lotsa goodies back home herself!

Close-Up

Choc Almond Cookies
I love this! Last bottle in the shop as well!

Pistachio Almond Cookies
A little sweet. Wonder why I got it in the 1st place. The pistachios perhaps...

Cranberry Almond Cookies
Boy were these lovely...

My cousin gave me these - Pineapple Tarts!

I like that it's not too overly sweet and that it has pineapple bits in it still! It's not entirely smooth. ^^

I end off with a non-food related photo.
My little nephew whom I love after spending some time with him for the 1st time.
Yes, I'm a bad aunt... =(
This boy just captures my heart! =D
I shall call him little J! ^^

Have a great day Peeps!

Lunch was out. I had prawn noodles.
Dinner was Ipoh Hor Fun with Chicken & Beansprouts.

17th Feb, Tuesday

Breakfast was 2 x cheddar cheese omelette with a smoothie.
I didn't visit the toilet yesterday and so, I thought I needed some fibre.
Hence, I dumped some mixed berries, ground flaxseed and rice milk
into my NutriBullet and blend away!

Lunch was with a friend. I had a bowl of Tom Yum Handmade Noodles.

Dinner will be Quinoa with Smoked Paprika Salmon & Capsicums.
This was supposed to be my lunch. I forgot about my lunch appointment until when I was about to leave home for work. Hence, I turned it for dinner instead.

18th Feb, Wednesday

Need, need fibre! Smoothie I go! The same as the one on 17th Feb, Tuesday.

This was lunch - Mee Bakso with Chicken Satay.
Peanut Sauce was Yumz...

Dinner was Steamboat. Read all about it HERE.

19th Feb, Thursday

Lotsa Berries Smoothie!
I threw in a mixture of fresh strawberries, raspberries and black berries along with some rice milk.
Tasted surprisingly sweet! Must be the Korean Strawberries... ^^

This was lunch! @ my 1st Aunt's place. She's THE BEST cook!
We have chicken, fish, prawns, roast pork, braised sea cucumber with mushrooms (my fav.), abalones with spinach, chap chye and also soup (absence in this photo)!
I LUUURRRVVEEE her soup!

Dinner was leftover stuff from steamboat.

20th Feb, Friday

Breakfast was a smoothie same as the one on 19th Feb, Thursday.

Lunch was leftover stuff from steamboat.

Dinner was Rice with Braised Chicken, Ngoh Hiang (made by S which just isn't good in my humble opinion) and some veggie with mushrooms.

Well, that's how my Week 8 looks like.
I got to go plan what my meals will be for Week 9!

Have a great Saturday Y'all!!!

I Fine...Thank You Love You

I went to watch this with S on 18th Feb.
This was screened on 22nd Jan.
Hence, it's been in the movie theater for more than a month!
Tells you A LOT about this movie!

Both of us laughed from the beginning till the end.
It's really filled with humor!
Besides, both the male lead and female lead are such beautiful people! Eye candy... ^^

Go catch it for some laughs!

Steamboat for CNY

I don't know about you but I luuurrrvveee steamboat.
There's no need to wait till the Eve of CNY to enjoy steamboat.
In fact, I can have it 365 days a year, every year if I want to! Simply 'cos it's easily available.
Nearing CNY, steamboat is not THAT easily available. Even if they are available, they don't taste as good. Hence why I like to prepare it myself.

Even though I've had my reunion dinner with Mom and Bro in Buffet Town,
a reunion dinner in my opinion, is not complete without steamboat. ^^

I snapped photos to share with you guys on MY version of steamboat.
I made some dumplings myself and I also made a chilli dip with the help of the sauce from Dancing Chef! Great! I just added some sauce in a bowl. Then I added some sesame oil, sesame seeds, minced garlic and some chilli padi. Yumz...

1st Row: Fish Dumplings, Pacific Clams, Tiger Prawns, Chicken, Handmade Dumplings
2nd Row: Tofu, Pork Balls, Crabsticks, Taiwan Sausages, Red Snapper, Pork Belly, Fishballs, Silken Tofu
Last Row: Yu Sheng, Enoki Mushrooms, Lettuce, Dang Oh (there's slices of abalone in the Yu Sheng)

My broth is made up of chicken and fish. It's quite a mix but still good. ^^
Well, that's my reunion dinner for you! I'm sure we're going to have a few more rounds of Yu Sheng in the remaining days of CNY. There's a total of 15 days for CNY! I LURRRRVVEEE Yu Sheng! ^^

On CNY, we also have pineapple tarts and oranges!
These were made by S.
A bit sweet for my taste. I prefer them slightly tart. =D
I was however, given some really nice ones from my cousin! *heart*

I hope you've been enjoying your holidays thus far!
Xin Nian Kuai Le! (Happy New Year)
Shen Ti Jian Kang! (Good Health)

Cedele on 15.02.2015

J & I went to Cedele for lunch yesterday.
Just a simple meal...

I had Mushroom Soup as my Starter.
J had Curry Pumpkin Soup which I have no photo to show.

This is J's Main - Chicken & Avocado Sandwich
This is one of Cedele's popular sandwich and J orders this every time he is at Cedele for a meal.

This is my Main.
I forgot the name for it but it's under the Vegetarian section and it's the 3-Shroom something.
I ordered this the last time I was at Cedele and told myself not to order it again.
I must have forgotten all about it. =(
I like the mushrooms but I don't like the patty.

Cedele seriously isn't even a place I would consider for any meals.
I'm just not a Sandwich person.
I would much rather have a bowl of piping hot and spicy prawn noodles. >.<

Have a great Monday Peeps!

Meals for Week 7

Week 7 already! Time really flies...

09th Feb, Monday

Breakfast - Berry Chia Smoothie
It consists of mixed berries, chia seeds, water and pomegranate juice
Tasted sour and light. With the absence of almond milk or greek yogurt, I thought this will not last me till lunch time. Hence, I consumed a packet of noodles with 1 x hash brown and 1 x fish fillet.

Lunch was Quinoa, Smoked Paprika Salmon & Baked Capsicums and Onions

As I've BSF class on Monday, dinner will be out.
I had my all-time favourite - Chicken Rice (Drumstick & Back Part) along with some Beansprouts.
It's a big portion for 1 but I usually take it this way. I'm a glutton. >.<
I did however, notice that I got really thirsty after 2 - 3 hours. It has got to be the MSG.
I shall keep this at bay...

10th Feb, Tuesday

Breakfast - Raspberry Chia Smoothie
It consists of raspberries, banana, greek yogurt, chia seeds, apple juice & vanilla extract.
This tasted much better than the smoothie on Monday. Besides, the color also looks much better...

Lunch - Soba with Tofu & Zucchini
Nice, light and refreshing!

Dinner at Comnam. Read HERE.

11th Feb, Wednesday

Breakfast was 2 slices of toast with Peanut Butter from 2nd Helpings,
along with a glass of orange juice.

Lunch was the same as the one on 09th Feb, Monday.
Yes, I can consume the same type of food a few times in a week and never get tired of it.
I am starting to look forward to my solo steamboat come 18th Feb! ^^

Dinner which is Porridge, Broccoli with Garlic & Steam Pomfret
This is my favorite simple meal. ^^

12th Feb, Thursday

Breakfast this morning is the same as the one on 10th Feb, Tuesday.

Lunch was Quinoa with Capsicums, Onions & Balsamic Chicken

Dinner was Rice with Honey & Ginger Chicken and Fried Egg.
I wonder why I do not have a photo snapped.
Oh... I was busy talking to my helper. Ha ha...

13th Feb, Friday

Breakfast was Vegetarian Bee Hoon.
Lunch will be the same as the one on 10th Feb, Tuesday.
Dinner was Rice with Braised Chicken & 2 x Hard Boil Egg.

14th Feb, Saturday

I had this (Rice with Vegetarian Curry Veggie) for lunch

15th Feb, Sunday

I had Rice with 01 x Steam Cod & Diced Zucchini & Diced Carrot for dinner
The other Cod Fish is for J. He Loves Cod Fish! ^^
I must say they are expensive fish to begin with but with the CNY lurking around the corner, they have turned EVEN MORE expensive. Oh well...

Wishing you a fantastic Monday!

1st Visit to Comnam @ Raffles City

My 1st even though it incorporated some time back.

Freshly Pressed Sugarcane Juice with Kaffir Lime Leaves
Verdict: Nothing special. Can't taste the kaffir leaves but then again, it could be my tongue issue.

Salad of Grilled Chicken, White Cabbage, Fresh Herbs & Roasted Peanuts
Verdict: I LURVE this! Sour and spicy. Yumz...

Crispy Squid, Dill & Green Chillies
Verdict: Forgettable.

Enough of side dishes. We now move on to our main dishes!

5-Spice Stewed Beef with Fried Egg & Pickles
This was my main dish.
Verdict: Beef were tender but tasted ordinary. Nothing to shout about really.

Marinated Fried Pork Cutlet with Chicken Ham, Viet Steamed Egg with Pork & Fungus & Pickles
This was A's main dish.
Verdict: It was alright. Ordinary.

Fried Aromatic Chicken with Viet Steamed Egg with Pork & Fungus & Pickles
This was C's main dish.
Verdict: C didn't like it. I wonder why... Both A and myself like this and said that among the 3, this is the best! Chicken were tender. Oh well... I guess one's delicacy is another's poison. >.<

The meal doesn't come cheap.
Drink was $3.50.
Main dish were $9.90 each except for the Fried Aromatic Chicken which was $8.50.
The Crispy Squid was $5.50 and the Chicken Salad was $5.90.

With such prices, frankly speaking, I'd rather go next door i.e. Nam Nam.
Food there taste SO MUCH better...
Oh well... at least we've tried Comnam!

Meals for Week 6

1 week passes so quickly... Time flies!
Another round of sharing. ^^
It was only this afternoon that I decided to include breakfasts and dinners as well.
Hence, there's no photo for my breakfast on 02nd Feb, Monday.
However, I can tell you in words what I had for breakfast!
It was banana, mixed berries, almond milk, ground flaxseed, honey and instant oats smoothie.

Lunch was Quinoa with Balsamic Chicken, Roasted Capsicums
and my favorite salsa - Black Bean and Corn.
Yummy... LURVE capsicums!

Snack was a piece of wholemeal bread with homemade hummus. Yum...

Dinner was Tomato & Fennel Soup
Tasted really sour, that's all I can say...

Okie! For 03rd Feb, Tuesday, I had a smoothie for breakfast.
Sorry no photo. I guess it's tough taking photos in the morning since it's usually a mad rush.
My smoothie is made up of watermelon, dates, chia seeds, mixed berries and water.

Lunch was the same as the one on Monday. Delicious!

Dinner was out. I had Pontian Wanton Noodles (big size with additional fried wantons)
I had class you see and I need that indulgence... ^^

This was breakfast on 04th Feb, Wednesday.
Made up of banana, mixed berries, almond milk, ground flaxseed, honey and instant oats smoothie.
Yup! This was the same breakfast as the one on Monday!

Lunch was out since we had an overseas customer.
We had it at Marriott Hotel - Crossroads.
I shared this with J along with some mayo.

This is Laksa with added Crayfish.
I must say the crayfish isn't as fresh as I'd like it to be but the prawns were huge...

Having had a heavy lunch, dinner is just a bowl of soup - Cauliflower & Watercress.
Yummy... Not salty enough but then again, too much salt is no good.

Breakfast on 05th Feb, Thursday was Vegetarian Bee Hoon.
I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo of it. >.<

Lunch was Yong Tau Foo which was a bowl of Veggie Goodness

I finish my lunch with a cup of Pineapple Balonglong Juice.
Balonglong happens to be one of my fav. fruit!

Dinner was at Pan Pacific Hotel. Take a look HERE to see what was consumed through the night!

Breakfast on 06th Feb, Fri was Vegetarian Bee Hoon.
Lunch is the same as 02nd Feb, Monday.
Dinner was at Buffet Town in Raffles City. You can read about it HERE.

Looking forward to Week 7?

Rang Mahal in Pan Pacific Hotel

We went to Rang Mahal on a Thursday night.
It was our 2nd visit.

The 1st thing you see - Ganesha

Side View

Walking pathway's dark but I assure you, it's brighter inside.

Some dips for Papadum and another type of thin biscuit which I've no idea on its name.
I love the middle dip. Taste of mint.
The dip on top tasted like mango chutney.
The one at the bottom is achar.

This was served shortly after the papadum.
It's on complimentary just like the papadum.
I don't remember the item on the plate but that drink tasted really good.
It has mint in it and lemon and it tasted salty.

Lemon Sobert
This is the 2nd complimentary item served for the day.
Pleasantly nice...

I had a glass of single Campari.

J's Starter - Gobhi & Truffle Soup
Gobhi & Truffle Soup is cauliflower florets with fragrance of truffle.
He says it's nice.

Both the customer and my Starter - Tandoori Portobello
Tandoori Portobello is tandoor-grilled portobello mushrooms with spices.
This was DELICIOUS!
Do not be fooled, thinking that 1 portion is small.
1 portion actually has 4 x pcs of such portobello mushrooms.

Lovely designs up on the ceiling. Can't help taking a photo of it.
Reminds me of the design on the floor at the front door during Diwali. ^^

Garlic Naan
We can hardly notice any garlic in it. J voiced out and we were given another set of fresh Garlic Naan. This time round, it was packed with Garlic and that smell and taste is much better.
Was told that they appreciate feedback and will keep it this way going forward. Great!

J's Dish to go along with his Naan - Rang Mahal Murgh Makhni
Rang Mahal Murgh Makhni is tandoor-roasted boneless spring chicken bites simmered in
homemade honey tomato gravy.
J said this was nice. He likes it.
I had a taste and I must say it's good but I would prefer it with a touch of spiciness.

Customer's Dish to go along with his Phulkas - Lasuni Palak Paneer
Lasuni Palak Paneer is wholesome cottage cheese cooked in fresh spinach mash
with garlic and green chillies.
The customer said this is nice.
Phulkas is a pair of fresh "ballooned" wheat bread prepared live at the station.
No photo of Phulkas. I guess you'll have to google it to see it. My bad...

My Dish to go along with my Garlic Naan - Raarha Gosht
Raarha Gosht is lamb chunks in a fiery hand-pounded spiced robust gravy.
This was nice but too spicy for me and the portion's too big for 1. For 2, it is just fine...

The customer & I share another dish - Home Smoked Bharta
Home Smoked Bharta is clove-smoked mashed aubergine, tossed with ginger and smoked tomato.
Both the customer & I think that this tasted good!

Dessert Time!!!

Cinnamon Panna Cotta - simmering concoction of cream,
milk, sugar and hint of cinnamon set to cool
This was J's choice of dessert.
He took that wafer stick out before I could snap a photo and when I told him I haven't snapped a photo yet, he put the wafer stick back. I have a feeling the stick wasn't presented poked into the panna cotta. I have a feeling this was J's doing. I believe the stick was left lying on top of the panna cotta just like how it lies in the dessert below.

Anjeer Kulfi is an indian ice-cream made with fresh nutritious figs
This was the customer's choice.

Signature Dessert Sampler which is a combination of
Rasmalai, Kesari Jalebi & Espresso Kulfi (left to right)
Rasmalai is cardamom flavoured cottage cheese dumplings in sweetened milk
topped with pistachio & almonds.
Kesari Jalebi is sweetened crispy gram flour rings served with wholesome reduced milk.
Espresso Kulfi is homemade milk frosty with espresso.
Among the 3, my favourite has got to be Kesari Jalebi. It's no doubt sweet but because it's crispy, the taste is so good... I'm not a coffee person so I wouldn't be able to appreciate the Espresso Kulfi but both the customer and J tasted it and said it's good.
After taking cottage cheese for the 1st time, I don't fancy it. I guess if it's not soaked in sweetened milk, I might like it.

Other than the above items, J had a glass of double Campari, 3 x bottles of sparkling water
and also a glass of White Wine.
Total damage is slightly more than SGD460.00.

The atmosphere makes it a good place for business meals or for special gatherings such as birthday celebrations. It's also a good place to bring your Indian friends or acquaintances to.
I might consider bringing Mommy here if she ever wants to try Indian cuisine. ^^

Well, I do hope you enjoy this post and until next time... Chill!
