My Love, My Precious

I felt really strongly for my niece today and decided to write to her, only that this is for my viewing. I just thought of sharing with you guys. I do apologise but I had to replace some names with XXX. =) Enjoy!

START
A baby, created by God, presented to the world healthy & happy. God is good. All things which He creates are good. It is often through the journey of growing up that men rebel against God & are no longer good in the eyes of God. Hence, we need to reconcile with God, go back to Him & obey Him. This has to be done so we can be with Him for eternity.

Ms. Chubby, created by God, given birth by XXX, loved by many. Growing up healthy & strong, always smiling & laughing even in times of agony & suffering. I hope she stays this way, always positive. She’s in my prayers most of the nights & my love goes to her. Like her mother, I will be there to protect her, guide her & love her. Unlike her mother, I cannot spend all my time with her but my thoughts will always be with her. My thoughts will always be around her.

I pray she grows up knowing God, desire & thirst for God & love God.

I pray she grows up obeying her parents & all who loves her.

I pray she grows up well-mannered & is respectful, humble, courageous, patient, meek, caring towards the people around her in her work, her home & strangers.

I pray strangers will be touched by her love for God & in turn, desire to know more about God.

I pray she grows up well & do things which pleases The Lord, making her parents & the people who loves her proud of her.

I pray she contributes to the community, love & care for the poor, abused & needy human & creations of God.

I pray that she’ll turn to God when tempted.

I pray that she’s positive, brings joy to the people around her & for people to love her more than the love she has to offer.

I pray she listens to God & obey God.

This baby, growing up quickly to a girl, a lady, a woman.

This baby named XXX, XXX, Ms. Chubby.
This baby who is my love, my precious.
My thoughts & prayers will ALWAYS be with this baby, my precious.

END

Do you also write to your child, nephew, niece etc.?

Have a great Friday Y'all...

It was a busy day for me yesterday. I was out for slightly more than half of the day. During lunch time, I did make a trip down to Mapletree House to collect the items which I paid and not collected. I also purchased a few other items when I was there. Video HERE

My lunch was really late, say around 4 plus in the afternoon. Lunch was Sambal Okra with Chicken & Bean Curd with Rice. It was so delicious I asked S to give me the same for dinner.

As for today, breakfast was 2 x soft boiled eggs & 1 x slice of baguette with butter and sugar. Toasted bread with butter and sugar = yum!

Lunch will be Lotus Root Soup with Rice.
I believe dinner will be the same. Usually, S will cook 2 x portions of soup for me. 1 x portion is just too little to begin cooking.

I woke up earlier this morning to do my BSF homework and I felt good. Surprisingly, I felt alert despite waking up 1.5 hrs in advance. I believe I'm going to do this again for the next couple of days. I felt closer to God when I do this in the morning. =)

The Mapletree House haul was done on Wednesday.
I did do another haul earlier this week, Monday in fact. Video HERE.

Tuesday, 25.03.2014

My apologies for not updating promptly. It has been hectic but fulfilling for me the past few days. Let's see...

Thursday, 20th March 2014
We had the kiddos over as it was the school holidays. We had plans to bring them to the Botanical Garden in the morning. At the very last minute, I couldn't join them due to work. In the afternoon, J took a nap & I worked through the day as I brought my laptop back in the afternoon.
It was a crazy day and I only managed some time for myself after dinner.

Friday, 21st March 2014
To the pool we go! Kiddos had lots of fun at the pool. We later lunch there as well.
I saw a group of females working out on a stationary bike in the pool. It seemed like a good workout and I desire to do that one day, when I don't have to work on a weekday and I simply spend that weekday working out and having a relaxing lunch thereafter. Yes, somewhere in my system, I too would like to workout and be fit. Ha ha...

Saturday, 22nd March 2014
We brought the kiddos to Vivocity for brunch at ABC. Again, another round of lovely time spent together with good food and beverage. The kiddos enjoyed themselves tremendously. Thereafter, we went to catch a movie - Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Entertaining movie for little children I must say. =)
After the movie, we went to Botanical Garden again and walked to Tanglin Mall where we got Walnut Oil (much needed for the bread I was going to bake the next day) and Arnica. It was a really long walk. I enjoyed myself though the kiddos were complaining.
We went home after that. After sending the kiddos back to their maternal home, I baked a loaf of Walnut & Raisin Bread. It turned out well and I took 6 slices to offer to the girls in my discipleship class the next day.

Sunday, 23rd March 2014
I went for church service at 11.15 a.m. The service I usually go was 9 a.m. My discipleship class starts around 2 - 2.30 p.m. so if I go for the 9 a.m. service when I've class in the afternoon, I'll have a 3-hr gap in between. Hence, if I do have class that day, I'll go for the 11.15 a.m. service.
It just occurred to me today that I've ushering duties on Sunday. I've since written an email to my leader, apologizing. I really need to be more organised. I was so busy, I didn't even look at my Filo!
I managed to buy a music album by Carpenters. Lovely music.
After class, I went to Far East Flora to buy some bitter gourd and cucumber seeds.
S & I have plans to remove the current crawling plant at home and replace it with bitter gourd. S also started growing some pineapple as per my request. It'll take years for it to grow I believe. =(
After dinner that day, I baked another loaf of Plain Wholemeal Bread & 2 loaves of French Baguette. I'm really glad J liked both breads. The baguette turned out well on the 1st try! I'm very happy...

Monday, 24th March 2014
I had 3 x slices of Walnut & Raisin bread for breakfast and that finished my loaf of bread.
My lunch was Chicken Stew with Rice. A photo of it was posted on my Instagram.
I had dinner at NEX as I've BSF class.
Dinner was at Chicken Pot where a photo was posted on my Instagram as well. It wasn't what I expected, far from it in fact. I'll not step in anymore. I'd rather walk 10 minutes from Serangoon MRT and enjoy a pot of Sesame Oil Chicken which is so tender I could cry in happiness. I've blogged about it in February/March 2014.
I went to BSF and this time, I don't feel as hyped up. The fault lies entirely on yours truly. I had insufficient time and rushed through my homework. I also didn't pray before doing my homework. I also didn't complete my homework. I guess, it's really what I deserve for not putting in effort. =( Feeling guilty and persevere to work better the next class!

Well, that's how the past few days went for me.
Breakfast today was 2 slices of plain wholemeal bread (which I baked myself) with a few slices of salami and a slice of Edam cheese. It was lovely...
Lunch for today will be Bitter Gourd soup with Rice.
As for dinner, I'm meeting up with my dear cousin today so no idea on what's for dinner yet. Will post a photo on Instagram though... Might blogged about it. =)

Have a great Tuesday Y'all!!! Oh, I'm so behind Project Life... gotta start sometime.

Wednesday 19 March 2014

Wednesday, 19.03.2014

It was a busy day for me yesterday. I spent 3/4 of my working day at the depot. 1/2 of it was spent on travelling and the other 1/2 was spent on lunching and the customer. Well, I got nothing out of all the time spent. Zilch! No firm deals! Not even close to confirmation. In fact, no further considerations. Well, there's always another opportunity!

I didn't bring my lunch to the office yesterday.
For Breakfast, I had a big slice of Pound Cake.
Lunch is a bowl of Tom Yum Mee Hoon Kuey & a cup of Lime Juice.
Dinner was Chinese ABC Soup with Rice.

This morning, I had a big slice of Pound Cake & a glass of Peppermint Tea for breakfast.
Lunch will be Chinese ABC Soup with Rice.
Dinner is Guiness Beef Stew with Mash Potatoes and perhaps some Steam Veggie.

Come this Sunday morning, I intend to bake Walnut & Raisin Bread. Frankly speaking, I can't go on baking cakes and cookies all the time as there's lots of sugar and butter involved. Baking these and consuming them would put a setback on my health. Hence, I've decided to venture into baking bread. Now and then, I'll squeeze in a cake or two. =)

I just bought a Ono Lisa music disc. I don't know the name of the album. It's white in color with a few flowers, no image of Lisa herself. It's really tough getting her albums. I went to That CD Shop a couple of weeks back and they don't have any of her albums. The same for HMV. I was so disappointed and only yesterday, I managed to buy this album from CD-Rama at Popular Jurong Point. Well, the album which I would like to get is another one which is many years back. I believe it was out in Year 2008 - Ono Lisa Best 2002 - 2006. I guess I might just buy it over Ebay or Amazon. We'll see...

I wish you the most pleasant Wednesday!

Pandan Chiffon Cake

Pandan Chiffon Cake (Extracted from The Little Teochew)

Ingredients A
7 egg yolks
75 g coconut milk
Concentrated fresh pandan extract
150 g flour
4 g baking powder
75 g sugar
3 g salt
83 ml vegetable oil

Notes:
The Little Teochew used freshly grated coconut & added 1 – 2 tbsps of water and squeezed the coconut milk out.
As for me, freshly grated coconut looked somewhat unhygienic where I stay. Hence, I went for the Kara brand cream coconut and added some water. I don’t remember how much coconut cream & water I used. My apologies there. I guess just gauge it yourself for now.

As for Fresh Pandan Extract, I do have a pot of Pandan plant so I cut about 20 x leaves and blend it with ½ cup of water. Then, I put it over a sieve and squeeze the juice from the pulp. I left it in the fridge for about 2 – 3 days. I then discard the liquid, leaving only the sediment at the bottom. Now, that’s your Fresh Pandan Extract!

With regards to the measurements of baking powder and salt, it’s so small that I just don’t bother to weigh them. Like The Little Teochew, I reduced the amount of sugar from 95g to 75g.

Ingredients B
7 egg whites
100g sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 160 deg C.

Combine egg yolks, coconut milk and pandan extract in a mixing bowl.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt. (I didn’t bother to sift). Add flour mixture and sugar into the bowl. Add vegetable oil and whisk everything to combine. (Frankly speaking, I didn’t bother. I just dump everything together and whisk away!)

In a separate and clean bowl, beat egg whites and sugar together till it forms soft peak. (This is a long process. I used a hand held electric mixer)

Slowly fold egg white into egg yolk mixture in 3 – 4 additions. (I did this in 2 additions)

Pour cake mixture into an ungreased tube pan. (I just use a round pan, about 8”)

Bake for 45 minutes. (I believe I baked it for 30 odd minutes)

Flip the pan upside down against a bottle on kitchen counter and let cool for 25 – 30 minutes. Loosen side of cake with a knife. (Seriously, I didn’t do this. As I started baking at around 9 p.m., I left mine in the oven)

Well, I’ve not been a good girl and I’ve not followed all the steps as instructed. I guess perhaps one of them is the reason why my cake didn’t turn out fluffy but seriously, after consuming the cake myself, I wouldn’t change it any other way. I’m happy with my imperfect cake! =)

Give it a try and I hope yours turn out well…

Hello people!!! A new start to another week!
This week will be a fast one for me as the kiddos are coming over on Thursday and we're going to bring them to the Botanical Garden which means NO WORK! Okie... I've the Blackberry so technically speaking, it's not 'No Work' but 'Less Work'. Ha ha... Less work is welcomed as well!

Last Saturday night, I attempted baking Pandan Chiffon Cake. It turned out nice except that it's not really a chiffon cake as it isn't light, fluffy and bouncy like the ones you buy from the bakery shops in neighborhood areas. The name - Pandan Cake would fit better. I'll do a separate post on the recipe later today.
Even though it's not light, fluffy and bouncy, a lot of people said that it's not bad, around 8 or 9 persons. I believe I'll make it for Friendship Sunday at my church on 30th March 2014! =)

It was good meeting up with the girls in my Discipleship Group (DG) yesterday. Well, when it comes to my faith, I'm attending DG classes which is like a follow-up after Baptism & Confirmation from the church I'm attending. I'm also attending classes conducted by Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) as I would like to learn more about the Word of God. I doubt I can squeeze in anymore as these 2 require discipline especially BSF so for now, I believe these will do.

Today's breakfast was a few cubes of Pandan Cake and 2 x cups of Tropical Passion Tea.
Lunch will be Chicken & Daikon Soup with Rice. Photo here!

Dinner will be the same thing i.e. Chicken & Daikon Soup with Rice.

I also made a Christmas card last night. Yes, it's still along way to Christmas but since the company I work in requires 200 x cards, it's better to start preparing. Take a look!

Have a blessed day!

Friday, 14.03.2014

Whether I'm looking forward to the weekend greatly depends on what my programs are for the weekend. This week, I'm not as excited. Just pretty lukewarm. I want to go see Ms. Chubby!!!
I can't wait for her to be able to walk so I can bring her to nice places for food, pastries, candies etc. and I can bring her shopping. I can also bring her for kiddy movies. I can bring her to so many places!
I can't wait for her to learn how to talk so I can call her often and find out how her day was, whether any interesting things happened, what she has been doing etc.
I can't wait to tell her more about God, get her a Bible (kid's version), bring her for Sunday classes etc.
Her birthday falls on November. Maybe I'll get her a gold chain or a gold pendant or a gold bangle or an Ang Bao for her birthday? Oh! I'll also make her a lovely birthday card! =)
I believe my whole head is filled with Ms. Chubby. =)

My meals didn't go as plan yesterday. I only had my lunch at 3 plus in the afternoon. Dinner was supposed to be Avocado & Egg Salad but I ditched that. Instead, I had 2 x portions of Cherry Yogurt. There's this brand I like. I'll post a photo of it on Instagram (dreamyc_81) when I get home today provided they don't get eaten up by Mr. Firstborn.

I got another order from Etsy (dreamyc81) for which I'm very grateful. =)

Today's breakfast was 2 x scones which I baked myself and a cup of Chrysanthemum Tea.
Lunch would be Black Pepper Beef with Capsicum & Rice.

Nice... Ms. S made the black pepper sauce herself.
I'll ask her to put a variety of colors for capsicum next time so it's more colorful. Other than that, it taste really yummy!

Dinner would be Fried Rice.

Writing down stuff on my Filo this week just brings a smile to my face. Take a look!

So Pinky... Me Love... =)

As you know, I had Sambal Goreng & Beef Rendang for my lunch yesterday.

Taste really yummy... I like it that Ms. S replaced long beans with Okra.

Ms. S helped to blend this mixture to get Pandan extract!
I'm going to bake Pandan Chiffon Cake and bring it for my DG class this Sunday!

I wasn't pleased with how the birthday card turned out for Ms. A.
Hence, I tried making another. This is the image.
Lovely fairy. I colored this with copic markers.
I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
Will post a photo of the completed card on Instagram!

I need to start doing my BSF work tonight after my Korean show. I've pushed it aside for far too many days & I need to get cracking!

I'm thinking of bringing the kids for breakfast at McDonald's tomorrow morning. We'll see how it goes... I've a dental appointment tomorrow at Wheelock and it would be nice to have breakfast & brush up before heading down to the dentist.

Well, that's about all for today. I hope you have a fantastic Friday!!!

Thursday, 13.03.2014

I'm glad it isn't a Friday today. Else, it would have been Friday the 13th!

My BFF posted me some note pads in the shape of cats. They are made from replanted trees. So sweet of her...

I woke up later than usual today. I received an order for the products which I'm selling - Deco Rush and had to make a trip down to the post office. On the way back to the office, I packed a packet of Laksa as my breakfast, along with a cup of Ice Milo. I had it 10 plus in the morning.

I started with a late breakfast. Hence, I believe my lunch will be 2 or 3 p.m.? Lunch today will be Sambal Goreng, Beef Rendang and Rice.

I'm feeling really tired now. I've the urge to go back home and lie down on my bed. I can hear it calling out for me. Ha ha...

I need to make a couple of birthday cards as I'm not happy with how the one which I posted recently turned out. There's just something not quite right with that card. I also need to get some purple distress inks. I just realized I didn't have any purple ones. =(

Come after my Korean show tonight, I need to blend some pandan leaves as it's my intention to bake Pandan Chiffon Cake this weekend!

I'm missing my niece a.k.a. Ms. Chubby. I'm hoping to be able to see her again this Sat but I doubt that will take place. I'll have to patiently wait for next Sat to come... =(

That's about all I need to share for today. Oh! There will be new items come early April with regards to the products I'm selling. Be sure to check out my Etsy account (DreamyC81) or Qoo10 account (Dreamy C)!

Have a brilliant Thursday!

Wednesday, 12.03.2014

I didn't do any BSF work last night as I've a friend who asked for a Birthday card with purple elements in it.

The card was pre-made.
You see, when I've time to spare, I would do some Birthday cards.
There's always someone having a birthday so birthday cards are the ones which have a higher % of being used & so, earlier this year, I made a few birthday cards. =)
Now, I just added a purple violet last night!

I bought this ice-cream (Awesomely Choc) from Udders.
It's rich and not overly sweet - Perfect on a hot sunny afternoon!

I reached the office at 8 a.m. today so I get to knock off at 5 p.m.! Yippee!!! I'm always looking forward to knocking off. Ha ha... Anyway, today's breakfast is a packet of Nasi Lemak. I've forgotten to take a photo of it. The chili was good but the amount of ikan bilis and plain omelette was pathetically little and small!

Today's lunch will be Soya Sauce Braised Pork, Veggie and Rice. Photo will be posted on Instagram during my lunch time which starts usually at 1 p.m. and Dinner will be Steam Fish and Rice.

I plan to do some BSF work after my Korean show tonight. Today's episode is going to be exciting as the Dad of the villian will know what really went on! Ha ha... It will be a long story if I were to share it here so if you've the chance, go download it or buy the VCD! It shows on Channel U at 7 p.m. on weekdays.

I had a dream last night. I dreamt that I was in the midst of buying a bunny. Somehow, I had a Netherlands Dwarf on my chest and it's really obedient. I put it down and went to another shop and eyed on this really cute and demure looking Holland Lop. The Holland Lop was really sweet and adorable. It bit me after spending some time with it. There's no end to the dream. I don't know which bunny I ended up with ultimately.

Now, back to the real world. Indeed, I have intentions of getting a bunny as my next pet. I googled and found out that Holland Lop will be easier for first timers. I'll be a first timer if I purchase one but the dream didn't quite match up to the findings. Well, it's just a dream... When I'm going to get one, I'll get one which has a chemistry with me. That's more important than the breed. =)

That's about all I need to share today. I hope you have a brilliant Wednesday a.k.a. MID-WEEK!!!

Tuesday, 11.03.2014

It was really great attending BSF for the 1st time. I got to know other perspectives from answers given by the girls in my group. It was really enlightening. I also got to know more answers from the lecture after the discussion within our group. BSF really brings me closer to God & allows me better understanding of Him. =) I'm enjoying myself thoroughly. Who knew learning about Him could be so rewarding & joyful? Ha ha... I'm glad I got to experience that. =) This motivates me to do my homework diligently & spending time with The Lord. There's no class for next week due to school holidays. This week will be a good time to carry on with my in depth study & understanding of The Lord. =)

Today's breakfast: 3 x pcs of Double Choc Chip Cookies, 1 x slice of peanut butter bread & 2 x cups of Earl Grey Lavender Tea.

Lunch will be Watercress Soup with Rice. As usual, I'll post a photo on Instagram. My ID is dreamyc_81 if you don't already know. =)

I was dreading work yesterday. I was looking forward to knocking off so I could go for my dinner & BSF class. I went to the same place as I did last Monday. This time round, I had Claypot Sambal Kang Kong & Claypot Sesame Oil Chicken. All these with a bowl of rice & a can of Pokka Green Tea.

The Kang Kong was nothing fantastic. I just wish there were less oil & the mince meat doesn't make any difference in my opinion. It wasn't impactful. It would be fine without the mince meat.

The Sesame Oil Chicken was the best I've ever tasted! The gravy was nice & not overly salty. It goes really well with rice. I could finish 2 bowls of rice had there been more gravy. It's THAT good. The chicken meat was boneless & really tender. Delicious!

Well, that's about all I'm sharing today.
Have a fabulous Tuesday Y'all!!

Monday 10 March 2014

Monday, 10.03.2014

I reached the office super early today, at 7.45 a.m. I'm hoping to leave at 4.45 p.m. Why? Well, last Monday, I left the office at 5.30 p.m. BSF started at 7.15 p.m. and I was rushing through dinner and had to catch a cab to the church to be on time.

Today, it's going to start at 7 p.m. and obviously, I need to leave earlier. I don't want to rush through my dinner again. In fact, I DO NOT LIKE to rush through my meals. I'll be going to the same place which I did last Monday. I had Claypot Sambal Seafood last Monday. I'm thinking of having Claypot Sesame Oil Chicken later today. I'll post a photo of it on Instagram, dreamyc_81 if you haven't already followed me. =)

It was after 8.30 a.m. that my tummy starts to growl. I took 2 x slices of Fig Sourdough for breakfast and a cup of Rooibos Vanilla tea.

Lunch today will be Soya Sauce Braised Firm Tofu, Veggie & Rice. Will post a photo on Instagram when it's nearing lunch.

I guess it's pretty routine. The rest of the day will be work. After which, I'm rushing to the church.

I need to make a few calls to follow up on some business stuff.

Well, I hope you have a blessed Monday!

Saturday & Sunday, 08.03.2014 & 09.03.2014

Saturday, 08.03.2014

Started my morning by going down to Vivocity with J & his kids. We went to ABC (I blogged about this place earlier this year. You can check it out HERE). We reached at about 10.15 a.m. (shop opens at 10 a.m.) and some breads were not ready yet.
We took 2 x breakfast sets (1 x set comes with choice of baguette, croissant or pain au chocolat, a cup of coffee or tea & a glass of orange juice), an additional orange juice since there are a total of 3 boys and the sets will only give us 2 x glasses of orange juice in total, 1 x Lava Cake (Mr. Handsome likes it a lot), 1 x Cheese & Ham Sandwich & 1 x Pain Au Chocolat for Mr. Chubby. Well, I like to address the boys by their nicknames. I find that it's cuter that way... =)

After breakfast, we went to Toys R Us and I was amazed to find some Lego designs. Lego happens to be my favorite! Take a look!

After Toys R Us, we head home for lunch. It's tiring work lingering in Toys R Us for a couple of hours. No joke!

In the afternoon, I made a trip down to see my niece. No photos of her but she's just so very adorable. I played with her and had so much fun, I didn't want to put her to sleep! Ha ha... I'm hoping to see her EVERY week but I doubt that could happen. =( If I had a choice, I would see her EVERYDAY! Oh my dear chubby chubby, why do you have to sleep after every feed??? Ha ha... I love babies... She's 4 months plus now, a November baby and I'm thinking of what to get her for her birthday already... More than 6 months to go and I'm already thinking about it... Kan Cheong Biao Yi... =) When she smiles, you can see her dimples. She has big eyes and really chubby cheeks. She smiles easily and I can't stop thinking of her since then. =) Well, I bought my cousin some bread from ABC. Both my aunt and her are bread lover.

That about sums up my Saturday.

Sunday, 09.03.2014

I spent the morning in church and most of the hours in the afternoon doing my BSF homework. I did a video on my Filo Set Up for Week 11. You can see the video HERE.

I just hope my weekends last longer... They go so FAST!!! =( Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next weekend! Next Sat? To the dentist I go!

Friday 7 March 2014

Friday, 07.03.2014

No tea today. Just a slice of Fig Sourdough. Speaking of sourdough, I'm going down to ABC tomorrow morning for breakfast. Hot and lovely Pain Au Chocolat... hmmm... yummy...

I reached the office later than usual and so, I don't have the luxury to make myself a cup of tea.
Anyway, my BFF told me that I cannot all of a sudden start drinking Chrysanthemum Tea to beat the heat. She said gotta keep it like a routine and so, I make it a point to drink 330ml of Chrysanthemum tea everyday starting from yesterday. Ha ha... Yes, indeed, I don't know about my body and I don't know how to take care of myself. =)

Lunch was Lotus Root Peanut Soup with Rice. No veggie this time as it's very filling for me and I'm NOT a pig! Ha ha... As always, soups taste better after the 1st consumption.

I spent some hours doing my BSF homework last night and it's going to take lots of time. Well, that's because I want to do a thorough one! I don't want to touch and go... Spending time with The Lord is a PLEASURE!!! I'm looking forward to doing that again tonight.

Nothing special today being a Friday. I guess I'll watch Twinkle Twinkle though I found out a way to watch it on the internet before the official screening time. See, it starts at 7 p.m. but if you were to go to video.xinmsn or something like that, you can start to watch it earlier. Yesterday, I saw the episode on the site, available for viewing like 5 plus. If I watch it on my way home, I'll be able to have more time for my homework back home! Time is of an essence. You don't say... =)

Also, I need to start doing Project Life (PL) for last week as well as this week. I'm a week late for that. No time? Ha ha... I usually don't put lots of embellishments on my PL as I'm still new (only started this year). Hence, it doesn't take lots of time to complete. I only need to get the photos ready and I'm almost done!

The boys will be here this evening as with most Fridays and they go back to their Mommy come Saturday nights. This has been the case for the past 3 years. Frankly speaking, I'm still getting used to the amount of noise 3 young boys bring. It alarms me still...

Well, I hope you have a blast this Friday!

Thursday 6 March 2014

Thursday, 06.03.2014

It's a Thursday people...!!! I'm so looking forward to this weekend as I'm going down to see my niece!!! Babies really grow very fast. Now and then, photos of her will be sent to me via Whatsapp. I pray and hope that she'll grow up healthy, obedient and a child of God. =)

Well, I start my day with a cup of Rooibos Vanilla tea and 2 x slices of Fig Sourdough purchased from Artisan Boulangerie Co (ABC) in Vivocity. I must say it is expensive. I believe I paid $8.50 for that and $8 for Rustic Sourdough. Breads in Cedele cost around half of that price but then again, I believe I'm paying for quality. I'm not a big bread eater anyway. Hey... I'm a Chinese! At the end of the day, no matter how far I've ventured in the food journey, I'll still go back to my rice, noodles, porridge etc.
I'm tasting the Fig Sourdough bread as I type this out and it taste really good... I love fig so....yea...
The Rooibos Vanilla tea taste great and I like it very much! I'm going to continue having it and leave 1 last packet behind. Why? Well, I intend to buy some loose Rooibos Vanilla tea from Gryphon and I would like to taste if there's any difference between the 2 brands.

Lunch is supposed to be Lotus Root Soup with Rice and Veggie and dinner is Mince Beef Spaghetti but S interpret my meal board wrongly and so I'm going to have Mince Beef Spaghetti for lunch and Lotus Root Soup with Rice and Veggie for dinner. A blessing in disguise. This meant that I don't have to carry so many containers to the office but then again, I would prefer soup for lunch as it's hearty and it warms up my soul - something much needed during mid-day of a working day.

My Lunch... Mince Beef Spaghetti

I made this meal board out of my scrap paper in black. Let me try and describe to you how I get it done.
1. I print out the names of the many dishes on a piece of adhesive label.
2. I paste the label on a piece of scrap paper in white.
3. I cut them out as I have 3 - 4 dishes on 1 label.
4. I then put them into little transparent bags in categories like Soup, Veggie, One Dish, Beef, Japanese etc.
Then I'm done! On my meal board, I label down Mon to Fri vertically down. I then decide what I want.
For example, if I want to have Old Cucumber Soup for lunch and Braised Toufu with Rice for Monday dinner, I would take out the names of the dishes and stick them onto the meal board where Monday is with the help of washi tapes.
I hope you can figure that out. I believe that a photo speaks a thousand words so I'll show you a photo of my meal board later this week.

It was episode 42 for Twinkle Twinkle last night on Channel U and I must say it's getting exciting... For sure I'm going to continue watching but I wouldn't be able to catch it every Monday as I got a call yesterday, informing me that I'm IN for BSF! So happy... my prayer was answered very quickly! Praise The Lord! I didn't do the homework yesterday as planned as I was lazy and ended up playing Candy Crush on Snowy (I call my tablet Snowy as the cover's in white). Hence, I'll need to get it going after work, dinner, Twinkle Twinkle and shower today.

So that's round about how my day looked like. As usual, I hope your Thursday's a blast!

I did bake my Double Choc Chip Cookies last night. Photo here!

It might not look as appetizing but it tasted not bad… It was my 1st attempt after more than 10 years of not baking. Anyway, I let my office neighbours try and they say it’s not bad. The recipe which I obtained over the internet is a bit out of whack. It actually had a repeat of salt under the ingredients section. The temperature is also a bit strange. It calls for 2000 C. Fahrenheit or degree, either way, it seems wrong.  Anyway, I used my judgement and have it at 150 Degree Celsius and I baked them for 30 minutes, turning sides halfway. If you are interested, you can get the recipe HERE
Note: I replaced 50g of flour with 75g Hershey’s Cocoa Powder. I also didn’t put in any chocolate. Instead, I put in about 225g of 60% Cocoa Bittersweet Choc Chips.

I made myself a cup of Earl Grey Lavender tea (brand: Gryphon) which I purchased from NTUC Supermarket yesterday. Other than this tea, I also purchased Rooibos Vanilla tea (brand: Teekanne). I made J a cup of Rooibos Vanilla tea and he said that it’s good but not as good as the one which we used to buy from Bunalun before they made changes to the tea. He said Teekanne is good but not as fragrant.
Just a note, for Earl Grey Lavender, Nymph of the Nile and Pearl of the Orient (teas by Gryphon), they sell at SGD15.80 per box (box of 20 sachets) and this is inclusive of 7% GST. These teas sell at SGD15.85 per box from Gryphon website and there’s a 7% GST which is not yet included. In other words, I’m trying to say that NTUC Supermarket sells them cheaper than Gryphon themselves. I wonder why…

Dinner last night was Chicken Salad Wrap. It’s just some shredded carrots, shredded lettuce and pieces of chicken breast with mayo. S (our helper) cooked a whole chicken (small) in the Airfryer (brand: Philips) last Sunday. So, she used the leftovers for last night’s wrap. It was yummy…  S just put some sea salt, thyme & paprika on the chicken and she put it into the Airfryer at 180 Degree Celsius for an hour. On and off, she opened the tray and turned the chicken. I don’t have a photo but the chicken tasted really good if not for the fact that it’s also salty. Next time round, S will go easy on sea salt. The Airfryer is good man…

Today's lunch is Curry Chicken & Rice. Take a look!

I always look forward to lunch. Talking about lunch, I need to plan my lunches for next week come this weekend.
Tea break will be a cup of tea with some Double Choc Chip cookies! I'm thinking of going for Tropical Passion as I would like to finish it.

It's pretty routine. After work, I'll have my dinner (Egg & Avocado Salad) and watch my Korean Drama tonight! I'll have to start doing my BSF homework tonight as I didn't touch it yesterday.

I hope your Wednesday is going well so far... Hey! It's mid-week!
Have a blast Y'all!!!

I reached the office 30 minutes later than usual. Not that it matters much. Heh heh...

So what’s for lunch today? Well, the same soup which I had yesterday i.e. Bitter Gourd Soup. I had it with rice and cabbage. It tastes yummylicious!

I received an order. Someone from Germany placed an order from me and I’ve to make a trip down to Singapore Post after work today. I hate to delay delivery, knowing how anxious one can be when they have placed an order, though tomorrow would be more convenient for me since the post office close at 8 p.m. every Wednesday. I was told that come April, the post office will change its location to a nearby Community Centre. Frankly speaking, I don’t welcome that idea.

I just made myself a cup of tea, the same flavour i.e. Tropical Passion from CBTL. I’ve only like 3 bags left and it’s high time I replenish. I intend to buy some from Gryphon instead. I do like their Early Grey Lavender tea. I lean more towards tea than coffee. I love a few cups of tea with a few pieces of cookies. Yummy…

I’m thinking of going to NTUC after settling my work at the Post Office today. I intend to get some ingredients. I want to bake some Chocolate Chip Cookies… I’ll do it either tonight or tomorrow morning. I’m going to bring a few to the office tomorrow and I might give our office neighbour a tub, depending on the quantity. As usual, I’ll post the photo(s) on Instagram! Follow me! dreamyc_81

The rest of my day will be:

  1. Twinkle Twinkle (Korean Drama) on Channel U
  2. Baking
  3. BSF Homework (though I'm not sure if I'll get in, there's no harm in doing the homework!)
I hope your Tuesday went well thus far… Have a blast Y'all!!!

BSF & Dinner

BSF... I went for it and I was told to go home and wait for a call. Be patient & wait upon The Lord... easier said than done but I shall try...

My dinner for tonight is Sambal Seafood. Doesn't taste spectacular but then again, I was rushing through it. I didn't want to be late for my briefing. I shall visit again and when that time comes, I shall spend more time and effort tasting the food.

I sure hope your Monday is a brilliant one thus far...!

Monday 03.03.2014

So I'm going to start this journey on a walk through my life and I hope to be able to blog about it more often. It's just something I would like to start to update you guys on how my day went or is going to be. In other words, it's like Vlogging but only it's in words. I'm still not that comfortable with video recording of myself. I'm camera shy... =) So let's begin this journey together!
It will mostly be in point form so it'll be a better read? Enjoy!

1. I had a slice of the Coffee Cake I baked over the weekend. No tea this time. I took down a few recipes and wonder why it's called Coffee Cake when most recipes don't call for coffee as one of the ingredients. Well, I found out that it's like an informal cake where you have over a cup of coffee or tea. Don't go asking me why it's not called a Tea Cake. I've no idea why... Perhaps there's a lot more coffee drinkers than there are tea drinkers out there? Well, I'm hardly a coffee drinker. I lean more towards tea... =)

2. If you've read my earlier post, you would know that I'll be bringing home cooked lunches to the office! NO, I'm not on a diet and NO, I'm not counting my calories. I would like healthier meals. You have no idea how oily and unhealthy food are around my office area. I mean, sure! I can take some oil but TOO MUCH oil is like yucks!

My lunch today
Bitter Gourd Soup, Rice & Veggie
Soup still piping hot after 6 hrs!
Very impressed, very happy...

3. I'm working now and this Monday is a slow one... I'm looking forward to knocking off (who isn't?! *roll eyes*). I've decided what to have for dinner before I head down to church for briefing. Lau Wang Claypot Delights at Serangoon area. I've also decided what to order! Sesame Oil Chicken and Spicy Sambal Seafood... Just typing it out is enough to make me salivate! I shall update the photos on Instagram. If you've not followed me already, it's dreamyc_81.

Tea close to 3 p.m.
Couldn't get my favourite - Cherry Blossom so settled for this instead

I'm going to be home close to 10 p.m. today as the briefing ends at 9.15 p.m. It's Bible Study Fellowship. I really hope to be able to join in. It's actually a big group of people who study on The Word of God. They focus on a Book for an entire year. There's breaks of course. Breaks are usually in June and December where it's also the holidays of school children. How convenient. Doesn't apply to me since I've no kids but hey! I've not come across of anyone who rejects holidays! =)
This year, they are going to study on Matthew and I just thought that this year would be a good start for me since I do not have major things planned out for this year. If it goes well and I like it, I'll continue my journey with them come next year and the many years to come!

Well, that's how my day is going to be... I hope you have an exciting and fabulous Monday...

Office Lunches...

As of today, 3rd March 2014, I'm going to bring home cooked lunches to work during the weekdays. I did my food planning a couple of days ago and this is what I'm going to have:

Monday Lunch: Bitter Gourd Soup with Rice & Veggie.
Tuesday Lunch: Same as Monday. Type of Veggie might change.
Wednesday Lunch: Curry Chicken with Rice.
Thursday Lunch: Lotus Root Soup with Rice & Veggie.
Friday Lunch: Same as Thursday. Type of Veggie might change.

I'm not picky when it comes to my veggie. Hence, I let my helper decide on the veggie section. Obviously, I gave her some recipes for my soup as she doesn't know how to cook soup and we do not have any Soup recipe books back home.

I bought some thermal flasks (Zojirushi) from Tangs Orchard yesterday and though they might be expensive, I would gladly pay for food that's still warm after 6 hours. I shall put them to the test today! =)

I bought a food flask where there's 3 containers inside, 1 for a small portion of soup or a small piece of fish or some meat dishes, 1 for rice & 1 for veggie. That cost me close to 100 bucks. It comes with a pair of chopsticks.
I believe this will have a temperature of 68 or 71 deg C after 6 hours.
With a sling so it's pretty convenient.

I also bought a flask mainly for soup. It says on the box that it can be used to contain porridge and desserts as well. I was told by the SA that this flask is NOT suitable for water, tea or coffee. It's to do with the coating I believe. Anyway, that was on promotion and I've a 300 ml water flask which is FOC.
This comes with a spoon with a long handle, good to reach to the bottom of the flask.
I believe this will have a temperature of 71 or close to 80 deg C after 6 hours.

Comes with a carrier bag which is nice...

These 2 flasks cost me 186 bucks. The soup flask is on promo and the other wasn't. So there you go...!

Blogging with updates on my meals can be rather tedious in the blogging world, at least for me! It would be easier for me to do updates (photos) on Instagram. As such, you can follow me on Instagram: dreamyc_81

See ya around and Happy Monday! I'm going for a briefing after work today (faith related)!
