Meals for Week 8

Week 8! I'm enjoying and is reaping the benefits of clean eating!

16th Feb, Monday

I made these little babies for breakfast which starts on Mon and ends on Fri for me. ^^

A close-up! I put lotsa sharp cheddar cheese on top. Yumz...
I had 2 of these and a toast with peanut butter for brekky!

Lunch was out. I had prawn noodles.
Dinner was Ipoh Hor Fun with Chicken & Beansprouts.

17th Feb, Tuesday

Breakfast was 2 x cheddar cheese omelette with a smoothie.
I didn't visit the toilet yesterday and so, I thought I needed some fibre.
Hence, I dumped some mixed berries, ground flaxseed and rice milk
into my NutriBullet and blend away!

Lunch was with a friend. I had a bowl of Tom Yum Handmade Noodles.

Dinner will be Quinoa with Smoked Paprika Salmon & Capsicums.
This was supposed to be my lunch. I forgot about my lunch appointment until when I was about to leave home for work. Hence, I turned it for dinner instead.

18th Feb, Wednesday

Need, need fibre! Smoothie I go! The same as the one on 17th Feb, Tuesday.

This was lunch - Mee Bakso with Chicken Satay.
Peanut Sauce was Yumz...

Dinner was Steamboat. Read all about it HERE.

19th Feb, Thursday

Lotsa Berries Smoothie!
I threw in a mixture of fresh strawberries, raspberries and black berries along with some rice milk.
Tasted surprisingly sweet! Must be the Korean Strawberries... ^^

This was lunch! @ my 1st Aunt's place. She's THE BEST cook!
We have chicken, fish, prawns, roast pork, braised sea cucumber with mushrooms (my fav.), abalones with spinach, chap chye and also soup (absence in this photo)!
I LUUURRRVVEEE her soup!

Dinner was leftover stuff from steamboat.

20th Feb, Friday

Breakfast was a smoothie same as the one on 19th Feb, Thursday.

Lunch was leftover stuff from steamboat.

Dinner was Rice with Braised Chicken, Ngoh Hiang (made by S which just isn't good in my humble opinion) and some veggie with mushrooms.

Well, that's how my Week 8 looks like.
I got to go plan what my meals will be for Week 9!

Have a great Saturday Y'all!!!

Cedele on 15.02.2015

J & I went to Cedele for lunch yesterday.
Just a simple meal...

I had Mushroom Soup as my Starter.
J had Curry Pumpkin Soup which I have no photo to show.

This is J's Main - Chicken & Avocado Sandwich
This is one of Cedele's popular sandwich and J orders this every time he is at Cedele for a meal.

This is my Main.
I forgot the name for it but it's under the Vegetarian section and it's the 3-Shroom something.
I ordered this the last time I was at Cedele and told myself not to order it again.
I must have forgotten all about it. =(
I like the mushrooms but I don't like the patty.

Cedele seriously isn't even a place I would consider for any meals.
I'm just not a Sandwich person.
I would much rather have a bowl of piping hot and spicy prawn noodles. >.<

Have a great Monday Peeps!

Meals for Week 7

Week 7 already! Time really flies...

09th Feb, Monday

Breakfast - Berry Chia Smoothie
It consists of mixed berries, chia seeds, water and pomegranate juice
Tasted sour and light. With the absence of almond milk or greek yogurt, I thought this will not last me till lunch time. Hence, I consumed a packet of noodles with 1 x hash brown and 1 x fish fillet.

Lunch was Quinoa, Smoked Paprika Salmon & Baked Capsicums and Onions

As I've BSF class on Monday, dinner will be out.
I had my all-time favourite - Chicken Rice (Drumstick & Back Part) along with some Beansprouts.
It's a big portion for 1 but I usually take it this way. I'm a glutton. >.<
I did however, notice that I got really thirsty after 2 - 3 hours. It has got to be the MSG.
I shall keep this at bay...

10th Feb, Tuesday

Breakfast - Raspberry Chia Smoothie
It consists of raspberries, banana, greek yogurt, chia seeds, apple juice & vanilla extract.
This tasted much better than the smoothie on Monday. Besides, the color also looks much better...

Lunch - Soba with Tofu & Zucchini
Nice, light and refreshing!

Dinner at Comnam. Read HERE.

11th Feb, Wednesday

Breakfast was 2 slices of toast with Peanut Butter from 2nd Helpings,
along with a glass of orange juice.

Lunch was the same as the one on 09th Feb, Monday.
Yes, I can consume the same type of food a few times in a week and never get tired of it.
I am starting to look forward to my solo steamboat come 18th Feb! ^^

Dinner which is Porridge, Broccoli with Garlic & Steam Pomfret
This is my favorite simple meal. ^^

12th Feb, Thursday

Breakfast this morning is the same as the one on 10th Feb, Tuesday.

Lunch was Quinoa with Capsicums, Onions & Balsamic Chicken

Dinner was Rice with Honey & Ginger Chicken and Fried Egg.
I wonder why I do not have a photo snapped.
Oh... I was busy talking to my helper. Ha ha...

13th Feb, Friday

Breakfast was Vegetarian Bee Hoon.
Lunch will be the same as the one on 10th Feb, Tuesday.
Dinner was Rice with Braised Chicken & 2 x Hard Boil Egg.

14th Feb, Saturday

15th Feb, Sunday

I had Rice with 01 x Steam Cod & Diced Zucchini & Diced Carrot for dinner
The other Cod Fish is for J. He Loves Cod Fish! ^^
I must say they are expensive fish to begin with but with the CNY lurking around the corner, they have turned EVEN MORE expensive. Oh well...

Wishing you a fantastic Monday!

Meals for Week 6

1 week passes so quickly... Time flies!
Another round of sharing. ^^
It was only this afternoon that I decided to include breakfasts and dinners as well.
Hence, there's no photo for my breakfast on 02nd Feb, Monday.
However, I can tell you in words what I had for breakfast!
It was banana, mixed berries, almond milk, ground flaxseed, honey and instant oats smoothie.

Lunch was Quinoa with Balsamic Chicken, Roasted Capsicums
and my favorite salsa - Black Bean and Corn.
Yummy... LURVE capsicums!

Snack was a piece of wholemeal bread with homemade hummus. Yum...

Dinner was Tomato & Fennel Soup
Tasted really sour, that's all I can say...

Okie! For 03rd Feb, Tuesday, I had a smoothie for breakfast.
Sorry no photo. I guess it's tough taking photos in the morning since it's usually a mad rush.
My smoothie is made up of watermelon, dates, chia seeds, mixed berries and water.

Lunch was the same as the one on Monday. Delicious!

Dinner was out. I had Pontian Wanton Noodles (big size with additional fried wantons)
I had class you see and I need that indulgence... ^^

This was breakfast on 04th Feb, Wednesday.
Made up of banana, mixed berries, almond milk, ground flaxseed, honey and instant oats smoothie.
Yup! This was the same breakfast as the one on Monday!

Lunch was out since we had an overseas customer.
We had it at Marriott Hotel - Crossroads.
I shared this with J along with some mayo.

This is Laksa with added Crayfish.
I must say the crayfish isn't as fresh as I'd like it to be but the prawns were huge...

Having had a heavy lunch, dinner is just a bowl of soup - Cauliflower & Watercress.
Yummy... Not salty enough but then again, too much salt is no good.

Breakfast on 05th Feb, Thursday was Vegetarian Bee Hoon.
I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo of it. >.<

Lunch was Yong Tau Foo which was a bowl of Veggie Goodness

I finish my lunch with a cup of Pineapple Balonglong Juice.
Balonglong happens to be one of my fav. fruit!

Dinner was at Pan Pacific Hotel. Take a look HERE to see what was consumed through the night!

Breakfast on 06th Feb, Fri was Vegetarian Bee Hoon.
Lunch is the same as 02nd Feb, Monday.
Dinner was at Buffet Town in Raffles City. You can read about it HERE.

Looking forward to Week 7?

3rd Parcel from iHerb

I'm really excited to have received my 3rd parcel from iHerb.
Let me show you guys what I got...

I've yet to try these but the Peppermint was a repeat purchase.

I'm going to make Granola Bars with these oats and probably a tbsp or 2 of the wheat bran.
I'm curious to find out if it taste any different with the added wheat bran.

I'm really looking forward to trying these out.

Spectrum Essentials Ground Flaxseed which is a repeat purchase.
Bergin Dried Apricots. I got these as the Made in Nature ones are out of stock
and they have been out of stock for a long time...

I got the pomegranate juice, concentrate I should say, is simply 'cos it's good for your health!
Maple syrup I got it for my pancakes which I'm going to make over the weekend and I can also use it instead of honey for Granola Bars.

Have a great Monday peeps!

What I had for Lunches in Week 5

A recap...

This is what I had for lunch on Monday, 26th Jan.
Black Bean & Corn Salsa, Balsamic Chicken & Quinoa cooked in chicken stock!
Best lunch so far... No kidding...
As for my snack, it's a banana.

I had Wholemeal Spaghetti with Black Bean & Corn Salsa (I love this thing man...)
for lunch on 27th Jan, Tuesday.

I made Granola Bars (Cranberries & Apple) in the evening of 26th Jan, Monday.
I had a piece of this as my snack on 27th Jan, Tuesday. Yummy... Not too sweet too! ^^

Come 28th Jan, Wednesday, my lunch is the same as what I had on 26th Jan i.e. Black Bean & Corn Salsa, Balsamic Chicken & Quinoa cooked in chicken stock. My snack was however slightly different. See photo below:

My yummy Cranberry & Apple Granola crumbs with Light Greek Yogurt
It's light greek yogurt 'cos the helper bought the wrong one. I usually take the standard version and somehow, I don't know for what reason, she bought the light version.

My lunch on 29th Jan, Thursday
This is Quinoa with Smoked Paprika Salmon and Black Bean & Corn Salsa
Taste good... Love salmon with smoked paprika. My 1st!

Snack was Light Greek Yogurt with Cranberry & Apple Granola Crumbs!

Lunch for 30th Jan, Friday is the same as the one on 29th Jan, Thursday.
I did however make some Hummus last night
and so for my snack today, it's Hummus with Carrot Sticks! Photo below:

I did add some Cayenne powder on my Hummus today.
Chickpeas has lots of fibre which is good for me...

This more or less sums up what I had for weekdays.
Come weekend, I give my body a rest and go with what my helper cooks at home.
Weekends is also the time I have a few meals away from home. ^^
I'm going to include in exercise (walking for an hour) in my daily routine come February 2015.

My weight is at 63 kgs and % of fats is 34.1.
I'll see how much I can lose in the next month and will blog about it!

Have a great weekend peeps!

Saturday, 24th Jan Produce!

I've been really productive last Saturday. Check out what I made!

Black Bean & Corn Salsa
I got this recipe from Laura Vitale
I had the chance to eat it for lunch today and I must say this goes very well with quinoa!
In fact, it's so good and light, you can even eat it on its own!
Yummy is the word. ^^

As mentioned in previous post, I bought wholewheat flour to make wholemeal bread.
This is not 100% wholewheat flour. I did mix in some unbleached all-purpose flour.
Those at the back, I added some rolled oats. Those in front are plain.
I like them! My helper commented that those in front looked like boobs. Ha ha...

What is hummus without chickpeas?!
I made mine from scratch. Meaning, I cook raw ones.
Frankly speaking, if you do not have the time to spare, go for the canned ones.
I would just stick to canned ones once I'm done with what I have on hand.

I did also cook some mushroom soup.
No photo though...
I had it for breakfast this morning and I don't like it.
I've asked my helper to cook her version for me come next Mon.
For now, I'm stuck with this failed batch for the remaining weekdays... =(

Have a great day ahead!

2nd Parcel from iHerb

This time round, I opted for 2 x deliveries. This way, I pay USD8 for both shipments as compared to USD20 over for 1 shipment. The only downside is that they arrive at different times.
As there'a a few days gap between my orders, the different arrival dates don't matter to me. Let's dive down to it shall we? ^^ Reward Code: HPW978

Dried Apples and Dried Mangoes are for my Granola Bars.
Dried Pineapple is for my helper to munch on since she commented that she ever eaten and liked dried pineapple. ^^ She like that this isn't sweet.
I do like these from Made in Nature. Sadly, NTUC only stock up on prunes which isn't my favourite fruit. Hence, I got to get them from iHerb. =)

My cousin said that Chub Chub loves these so much. Hence, I decided to get some for my neighbour's young boy.
These are yogurt melts and I got them in Mixed Berry & Strawberry.

This I got as I wanted to make some wholemeal bread.
I didn't expect it to be such a huge packet. (I've honestly no sense on weight)

This Quinoa is a repeat order.
I love it! My only complain - Too small a package.

Bought this to make hummus.

Bought this as the cousin raved about it.
Smells nice...

All right... As usual, if you don't like to read all about it, then view it below:

I shall blog about the 3rd parcel when it arrive in the next few days.

Have a great Monday peeps!

Healthy Eating Week 4 of Year 2015

I ran out of quinoa! So sad, so sad...
It is often at the time when you lost something that you start appreciating it.
The same applies for me when it comes to food!
I should just order it from iHerb you say. Well, I was STILL trying to organize my cart that's why!
If you are going to buy stuff from iHerb for the very 1st time, enter reward code HPW978.
I explained why in my entry HERE.

Okie so I ran out of quinoa. What's a little ME gotta do?
Consume white rice? I try not to...
Little ME decides making a trip down to Pasarbella!
I was so disappointed! The next time I go, I'll only buy tea and Paella.

I also bought Organic Black Rice which is in fact a combination of black and brown rice from Mekhala. It wasn't love at first cook. Tasted like pulut hitam. Don't get me wrong. I luuurrrveee pulut hitam when it's a dessert but not quite as much when it's a rice. Well, at least not initially. I must say I've started to enjoy it as I get used to it. I like biting on the grains. Ha ha...

This is what I had for my lunch the past few days.
Monday and Wednesday, it's Salmon instead of Chicken.
Tuesday and Thursday, it's Chicken.
Doesn't look interesting but it sure does taste good especially when it's with Chicken!
That's the Organic Black Rice I was talking about.
I must say Organic Black Rice is pretty filling...
I bought some other versions from iHerb and that's my 3rd parcel.
Why is there a parcel 2 and parcel 3? Well, I didn't want to pay extra for DHL and hence, decided to put them on separate shipments. >.<

My 2nd parcel from iHerb is due to arrive this week or on Monday.
Yay!!! Hummus, wholemeal bread, corn & black bean salsa... yumz...
I'll definitely do a video and blog about my 2nd parcel once I get it!

Until next time, have a great one peeps!

Pina Colada Overnight Oats

I chanced upon overnight oats on YouTube some time back but didn't try it out as I wanted to get myself started on smoothie first. I must say I've been enjoying my smoothie in the mornings.

So I finally tried my hand on Pina Colada Overnight Oats.
It consist of oats, pineapples, chia seeds, almond milk, greek yogurt, shredded coconut and honey.
Leave it in the fridge overnight and this is how it turned out the next morning:

Do I like it? Well, it doesn't taste bad to me. It doesn't taste yummy either.
If you put smoothie and this on my table, I'll go for the smoothie.
If you put a kale smoothie and this on my table, I'll go for this.
Will I make this again?
Probably not anytime soon. I would like to go back to my smoothie tomorrow. ^^

So that's my take on overnight oats! Perhaps I should try other types of versions...

Have a great Tuesday!

Healthy Eating on 23rd through 25th Dec 2015

On 23rd Dec, I had Green Smoothie 1 for breakfast. My blender isn't working as well for the greens so I'll most probably get a new one come this weekend. Now that I'm mostly doing smoothies for breakfasts, it's really a thorn in my flesh when my smoothie doesn't turn out as smooth as I'd like.

Lunch was at Maison Kyser where I had Pork Ribs.
Frankly speaking, I was feeling a bit sick of the food there but I don't have a choice!
Dinner was Salad where my tum tum was really thankful for.

On 24th Dec, breakfast was Green Smoothie 1 again.
It was a flop as the blender was giving up on me and I added too much coconut water.
I ended up throwing it away as I couldn't see myself drinking that where I can see big chunks of baby spinach not blended well. Disgusting! Ha ha...
I made another batch with Greek Yogurt. Yummy... You can never go wrong with Greek Yogurt, in my humble opinion. I was supposed to have Apple Cinnamon Smoothie but as I didn't check on my planner, I ended up with the Green Smoothie.

Lunch was out again at Nam Nam.
I can feel my tum tum screaming at me.
I also didn't visit the toilet for the past 2 days.
Dinner was Pork Roulade and Lamb Leg.
By the end of the day, my tum tum felt really bad... Too much unhealthy food. No good...

25th Dec, I decided to treat my tum tum better since it really deserve a good treat and 2nd, the kiddos have gone back to their mother so no meals out! Yay...

For breakfast, I had Banana Smoothie. I just can't do another Green Smoothie with this blender of mine and also, I ran out of greens as I want to reserve the last portion for my salad later! =)

Lunch was Fruit Salad. Yum Yum...
It consist of baby spinach, cucumbers, grapes, apples, cherry tomatoes and avocado with Balsamic Vinegar Dressing. I added in some black pepper of course...

Dinner was something not so healthy but since it's Koka, it is the 'healthier' version of instant noodles. I had it with 2 x crab sticks. Those 'fake' stuff.

I felt hungry a few hours before dinner so I baked myself some Coconut Choc Chip Cookies!
I used Coconut Flour, Coconut Oil, Eggs, Salt, Vanilla Extract and Choc Chips!
Speaking of choc chips, I would get these from iHerb the next time round as they are bittersweet! Somehow, I didn't see them when I was doing my 1st order from iHerb.

I did visit the toilet yesterday and this morning! Whoo hoo!!!

So that's it for me! I shall update you on my meals for the next coming days soon...

Before I forget, I'm preparing my dinners in advance and I'll be freezing them and taking them out for consumption (I'll heat them up prior to eating of course) when it's dinner time!

For dinner tonight, lunch on Sat and dinner on Sun!
It consist of chicken breast, potatoes, sweet potatoes, red peppers and broccoli - all baked with parsley, thyme, salt & pepper.
I'll have them with Quinoa!

I'll be having dinner with Mom this Sat. Hence why it's Sat lunch and not dinner.

Have a great one Peeps!
