Sunday, 09.11.2014

It was a fulfilling Sunday for me.

We went for lunch at Brotzeit after church.
No photos here as I almost eat the same stuff everytime I go there.
I had french onion soup as my starter & spicy sausages as my main.
I did however change my mash potato for my main, to caramelized onion. I luuurrrvvveee caramelized onion! Yum yum...

I bought a small packet of popcorn in Corn Cheese from Garrett for myself and a small packet of Corn Cheese with Caramel Crisp for First Born.

After lunch, we went to Smiggle where I got J to buy me a small 'pouch' which I'll use to put my stationery. Love it! First Born got something which he will attach on his wallet.

Thereafter, we went to MUJI where I got quite a few items, mainly food.
I got a couple of beverages and some snacks.
I also got a packet of Curry Chicken for J to try. He loves Japanese Curry Rice...

Last stop - kiki.K!
I didn't get much for myself except for a couple of diary stickers.
First Born got a journal, a pen and refills for that.

Speaking of diary stickers, I'm thinking of getting a Midori Traveler's Notebook for myself to kick start Year 2015. After doing much research, I decided to go with the Midori instead of so many faux Midori in the market. Frankly speaking, the cover ain't cheap to begin with but I found a place in Singapore which sells it! Meaning, I don't have to pay for shipment and most importantly, I don't have to wait for it to arrive! Go google Little Man and you'll find the store. It's located at 7C Binjai Park, Singapore 589821. I gave them a call (T: 6464 6515) and was told that the covers for regular size will arrive end Nov, early Dec. Great timing for a b'day gift for myself! ^^ It cost around SGD68 for a regular size and SGD52.50 for a passport size.

I'm feeling really excited...

Have a great mid-week!!!

01.10.2014 - An Update

Hi there... It's been a tiring week and I've been busy especially since Hiraku left an impact on me. Read on to find out what I've been up to...

I managed to get an order from a dear friend of mine.
She would need 50 x cards on a monthly basis and it's only starting from Year 2015 since she purchased ample cards to last her till end of Year 2014.
Hence, I'm doing preparation work now. ^^
I did create quite a few birthday cards and the photos are all posted on my Instagram account.

I watched Maangchi's videos on YouTube and decided to give Korean cuisine a try. ^^
This is Cucumber Kimchi. I couldn't find the kirby cucumbers and hence, I used the long type of cucumbers. I've no idea what they're called. It turned out just fine...

I left the cucumber kimchi covered and in room temperature to ferment it.
The next day, this is how it looked.
That juice...
I opened it and it smells lovely!

I attempted doing another type of kimchi and this is Mushroom Kimchi.
It turned out fine except that it's a tad too spicy as I didn't follow the recipe diligently.
The next round, I followed the recipe and it is good. ^^
Next time, I'll add in more mushroom.

My helper was telling me that leftover onion is really bad as bacteria grows really quickly.
That's what a doctor told her.
With all the onion and asian chives left from my kimchi making, she made some onion fritters!
Goes really well with beer though this is not my favourite beer. Ha ha...

I went to see my Horlick and he's still just as chubby.
He loves sunbathing here.

He looked up and I managed to capture this moment.
I think he looks really good here. ^^
#iamaproudmama

Last week in the office is really tough.
I didn't get enough sleep, was tired and cannot focus at work.
My boss was stressed up and he was more demanding than usual.
As mentioned on my Instagram account, when I'm stressed, I craft and if I can't craft, I do Candy Crush.
This time round, even candy crush can't do the trick.
Thank God for a good ex-colleague who offered me a cupcake from Twelve Cupcake.
Choc Red Velvet Cupcake. That sure did the trick! Ha ha...

Well, this is an update from me! I will still be busy making cards in the next coming months...

I hope you did something happy today...

21.08.2014, Cards & Purchases

Hi Y'all!!! How have you guys been doing?

I've been busy... A quick update!
My parcel from SSS arrived. I now have a complete set of distress inks only in mini versions.
I'm so happy, I did a color swatch and paste them on transparencies. Wanna see how it looks like? See video HERE.
I'm also very happy with how the swatches turned out that I'm thinking of doing the same for the Derwent Inktense pencils that J so kindly bought me. I'm thinking of doing it this weekend. I'll show you a picture of it when I finally get around to getting it done.

Let me now show you pictures of the cards I've made so far...

I also did these with a new stamp set I got from Lawn Fawn along with the Derwent Inktense pencils.

So that's what I've been busy with.
I'm expecting another parcel of stuff from MTH today. No, I didn't go spending money on craft again. These were ordered more than a month ago! I'm just waiting for Ta Q Bin to deliver them. They ought to do it before 12 p.m. today. I've no idea what caused the delay. Anyway, I'm told they will be delivered to me before 6 p.m. today. I'm patiently waiting for its arrival...

Well, other than craft items, I've placed an order for a Yoei Electric Lunch Box. Don't know what it is? Go google. Ha ha... It allows you to have hot food in the office, at home etc. I bought some Zoijurushi thermal flasks some time back and I do love the flask for soup. I'm able to have pipping hot soup even after 6 hours. I also bought the Zoijurushi flask where it has 3 x containers but I don't like it as much as I like the soup flask as it only keeps the food lukewarm. I like my food hot. Not hot as in you will scald your tongue but hot like you see steam. I'm a chinese so that explains...

Since the 3-containers flask don't work to my expectations, I decided to buy this Electric Lunch Box where you can heat it up by plugging it to an electrical socket. It heats up your food using steam. You can use it to cook rice, soup, steam veggie, steam fish etc. The variations of food is limitless!

I'm told that I'll get it latest by Tuesday, 26th August 2014. I can't wait to try cooking with it. It's also good for small families or people who are single or living alone. I'll definitely post photos of the food I cook with it in due course. The lunch box looks like this!

A Friday tomorrow peeps!
Have a good one!

Monday, 11.08.2014

What have you been up to over the weekend? It's our National Day on Sat. Why isn't it on Friday or Sunday or Monday?!?! We will then have an extra day to rest! Ha ha...

Anyway, I went to catch a movie with the kiddos - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I can't believe I actually watched that. I watched that when I was a kid and now that I'm an adult, it's back to haunt me! Ha ha... The movie was alright, nothing fantastic. A bit of action here and there, a big of humor here and there. Nothing amazing really...

In the afternoon, I went down to MTH to collect a stamp from MaMa Elephant which I've ordered a few weeks back. I ended up with other stuff as well. How typical of a woman can I be? Ha ha...

12" x 12" paper pad by Dear Lizzy
Kraft & White 12" x 12" papers from MTH
Canvas background cling stamp by Impression Obsession
Sketch Copic Marker in E40
Mini Blending Foams
Tape Refills for my ATG Gun
VersaMagic Pigment Ink in Pink Petunia
Project Life Pocket Pages in Design G
MaMa Elephant Stamp - Everyday Greeting

I was happy with my purchase. I'm thinking of going down to MTH again this weekend but let's see... I would like to buy some dies from Lil' Inker and if I really get down to purchasing them, I can't go to MTH as that would be too costly for me for August. ^^ When it comes to crafting, it's always best to set a monthly budget in my opinion.

Come Sunday, I managed to get J to have lunch over at Nam Nam Noodles. He had chicken Banh Mi (boring~~~) and I had the usual which is Wagyu Beef Pho. This time, I ordered an extra serving of Wagyu Beef and also Pork & Prawn Rolls. It was delicious! Best part? I don't need to spend a dime! Ha ha...

After that, I went to my Mom's. I need to cut Horlick's nails and he wouldn't let me unless my brother's around. He's afraid of my brother for whatever reasons, I'm not sure. I think it might be due to past experiences. Horlick was rescued from an industrial area and there's lots of foreigners (Bangladeshis) working there. When I first saw Horlick at his foster's place, his face was stained with what appears to be diesel. His foster told me that the foreigners poured diesel on poor Horlick. She rescued him and showered him many times but still couldn't get the stain completely off. So I guess Horlick has been afraid of tall men ever since. My poor boy...

Talking about Horlick, I'm thinking of getting him a toy so he don't get bored at home and so he has something exciting to play with! I'll share a picture with you when I get it which will take a while as the mother of Horlick is an indecisive person. ^^

Oh! Before I forget, I went to visit Chub Chub on Friday and boy is she growing in temper. This lady is not to be trifled with! She screamed and that, she did a few times. Mostly when she couldn't get what she wants or she couldn't wait for stuff like her food. What a temper! I guess she'll be a monster when she grows up. Perhaps I should call her monster of chub chub. Ha ha... Just kidding... No matter how big of a terror she is, she'll always be my beloved! ^^ I'm missing her already... =( I hope she comes back SOON! Chub Chub's mother, are you reading this?!?! Ha ha...

Have a blessed Monday!

Nam Nam Noodles

I went to Nam Nam Noodles yesterday evening for dinner with 1 of my DFG gf. That was my 2nd visit. The last time I went was probably at least a year back. It wasn't WOW for me back then.

A friend was raving about it, saying that both his gf and himself will always eat their food whenever they see an outlet. I thought that was overly exaggerated. Nonetheless, I had a deep craving for it after talking to him and so, I decided to try again.

How was it? One word - Unforgettable! In a good way... ^^

Wagyu Beef Pho
I read that some people say that the soup is more beefy for Wagyu beef as compared to beef steak slices and so, I ordered this! I let the beef sit in the soup for a while as I don't enjoy taking beef which is not fully cooked. The beef was smooth, tender and really tasty. The soup was just as delicious!
Price? SGD17.90. I don't regret a single bit!

Fried Chicken Wing
This is a great side dish! Love it! The chicken was really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Thumbs up! Make it 10 fingers! Ha ha...

Well, that's all I had. I took their redemption card. Once you eat a number of pho or sandwich or drink, they will give you 1 for free. Meaning, if you ate say 5 or 10 bowls of pho (accumulated over time), they will give you a bowl free! I can't remember if it's 5 or 10 bowls. Well, wouldn't be hard for me to get a free bowl soon! I simply have fallen in love with this place and will be patronizing very soon! ^^ I may even go again this evening if the same gf is up for it. Ha ha...

That's all for me. Hope you have a great Friday! Can you smell the weekend approaching peeps??? ^^

A Card, A Lunch Out, A Purchase & Other Things...

Blessed Monday! It's a public holiday here in Singapore. Whoo hoo! I LOVE public holidays! =)
Warning: This will be a longer post than usual. Be prepared!

I went for my DFG class yesterday and I thank God that I stood firm and headed for the class even though a lady suddenly said she's not turning up. Initially, it's the 3 of us as the others were either overseas or have other obligations. When the lady suddenly said something cropped up, there's only the 2 of us. Anyone could have felt down, not motivated and cancelled the entire thing. I'm glad both my leader and myself stood firm & went ahead nonetheless. It turned out really well! =)

Before class, J & I went to Itacho Sushi @ Orchard Ion. It was my first time at Itacho. =)

Scallop & Lobster Sushi
This was really nice... I love it!

Green Tea Noodles
I'm glad to know that the dip doesn't just contain spring onion but also some radish and wakame seaweed.

Ikura Sushi
This was lovely as well! Love, love, love salmon roe!

Veggie Tempura to go along with my Green Tea Noodles
Nice, not oily. Thumbs up!

Fatty Salmon
This is LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
This is actually 2 portions. J had 3 portions and 2 for me. ^^

Chicken Teriyaki for J
He is pretty predictable when it comes to food. >.<

I went to see Horlick on Saturday and he's at his usual fat!

Nonetheless, cuteness to the max =)

My dinner for Sunday
We are into IBS food. IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

1 of my creations for the church!

I did my BSF homework this morning. I haven't been the most diligent these days... Heck! I haven't even been doing my 40 Days devotion for more than a week now! =(

I finally bought a little gadget to hold my mobile while I do recording on my cards. It cost close to 13 bucks. I wouldn't say it's the best gadget but it'll do for now...

J & I went to ABC today for brunch.

The croissants are for him and the pain au chocolat is for me.
As usual, nice!

My favourite dessert - Paris Brest.
Generous filling of hazelnut cream with a couple of hazelnuts and almond pieces on crispy pastry. Yumz!

Bacon & Leek Quiche
I finally found a quiche I enjoy very much. So much, I bought 2 of the same thing!
I've also always enjoyed the balsamic dressing from ABC. It's thicker than the ones served elsewhere.
I snapped a photo of the bottle and will be making my way to get one myself! =)

Long Black for him and Osmanthus Sencha for me.
I've never been a fan of coffee. =)

We went to Paper Market as I wanted to get something. It turned out that it's not available and I ended up buying 3 x paper pads. Take a look!

I passed by a shop and couldn't resist getting something for Chub Chub. The bunny is calling out to me! Ha ha...

Isn't he just the cutest thing?!
He's made of cotton and he's 1 weird bunny.
1st, he's w/o eyes.
2nd, he's w/o his bob!

I hope your Monday went well... That's about all for me over the weekend and Monday. I've BSF lesson later today even though it's a public holiday today. Not that I'm complaining... In fact, I welcome it!

A Change in Daily Routine

I made a few changes to my lifestyle.

I drink a cup of warm water with 1/2 lemon juice first thing in the morning.
I walk from home to the office every morning. Driving will take 10 minutes. Walking is around 20 - 30 minutes.
I walk from the office back home every evening.
I do hair treatments every Wed and Sun at home.

I've been doing the above from yesterday.
I weigh myself this morning and I'm at 60.6 kgs with 34.1% fats.

I intend to do this for a month and do the weighing again.

I'm having problems with my poo. I've constipation and the Squatty Potty doesn't help to make hard stool soft. It only aids by having a more thorough release.
I've read that drinking warm water with lemon works and that exercising works.
I don't really have time for exercising as I'll either be crafting or doing my homework after dinner. Hence, walking to and fro office is a good idea. It gets me moving.

As for the hair treatments, well, friends who know me personally know that my hair isn't at its best condition. I've experienced hair loss for many years now. I've tried different hair dermatologist and they don't work. Since J bought a steamer some months back, I decided to try out the hair treatments at home as well. We'll see how it goes...

Well, that's about all the changes I have made.

I'm going to see Chub Chub this Sat and I'm going to make sure I spend more than 4 hours with her this time. I miss her so and she's going back to KL probably next weekend. I drat that. I was with her last Sat and we went to Old Airport Road for breakfast which was good. We had wanted to go to the beach but because I've to leave at 11.30 a.m., we couldn't. Hence, come this weekend, I intend to spend more time with her. I might suggest to her Mommy to bring her swimming! =) Looking forward...

Have a blessed day!

I bought all these 4 x Greeting Farm stamps

I bought the one on the left only
The one on the right? I decided not to get it though I love the font... Someday...

Well, I've been busy over the weekend and I was busy with the making of cards. I also visited my Chub Chub and my my, she's grown so quickly. She's able to flip easily and get herself on a sitting position very quickly. She's also more stable in the sitting position now and requires no support. Her hands also start to get itchy and want to open drawers now. I was told that she likes to open 1 particular drawer where there's a mirror in it and she would keep staring at the girl looking back at her. Ha ha... How adorable!

Well, that's about all for my weekend... I'll need to get some copic markers while they are on promotion this week! Have a fantabulous Monday!

Lunch appointment with a supplier in Tuas yesterday. Venue was called D'Hub (Designer Hub). There's a good range of cuisine, Western, Chinese, Japanese just to name a few. Decent food at decent prices.

Salmon Sashimi for J
He always goes for the same type of food when it comes to Japanese

Ponzu Salmon for me
Pretty nice...

Chasoba for me. J had rice

Both J & I had the same thing which is Chicken Teriyaki which is yummy...

Designer Hub is a nice place. Pity it's in Tuas. We hardly go there... =(

This has been a really exciting week for me so far. My order from Pretty Pink Posh arrived last night and I was jumping for joy when I saw the box. =)

Twill Ribbons

Another Die

Lots of Sequins

Close-up of the top right corner ones...

I must say I got right into using the sequins after I filmed a video on it.
I made 2 cards!

Floating/Flying Bunny
#PrettyPinkPosh

#PrettyPinkPosh

I must say I'm in love with my items.
Incidentally, my Squatty Potty arrived earlier this week.
The same with my Scotch Mounting Tape purchased from Amazon. =)

What's a Squatty Potty? Well, go type it in Google and check it out.
I've constipation so it comes in handy.
I tried it for the 1st time this morning and I must say it helped get me into the rhythm of getting things rolling. Ha ha...

Have a great mid-week peeps!
