Buffet Town @ Raffles City

Whoo hoo!!! I went to Buffet Town for dinner along with Mom and Bro.
This is an early celebration of our Reunion Dinner.
The mother complained that food aren't as fresh when we have our reunion dinner on the Eve.
Photo below...

Frankly speaking, I was there for a BUFFET.
The main purpose is to eat. Ha ha... Hence, hardly any photos. My apologies.
Overall, the satay were nice.
Brinjal tempura not bad.
Sashimi (Salmon, Tuna & Octopus) were fresh. Remember to ask for Salmon Belly. ^^
Oysters and Mussels were nice.
Bro says the Carbonara Spaghetti was nice. If you order this, ask for more bacon.

Other than that, the rest were so-so.
I paid SGD41.80++ per person. I believe the whole bill for 3 comes up almost SGD150.00.
It's a good experience. Overall, it's the company that counts, not so much on the food.
It was my first visit and I doubt I'll visit it in the near term.

Well, I hope you have a great Monday!
I'm happy to say that I've a space in BSF this year! We will be touching on Moses. ^^

Movie - The Boy Next Door

J & I caught a movie on Sunday - The Boy Next Door.
It's a R21 movie, produced by Jennifer Lopez and there's just 1 sex scene. I am disappointed! Ha ha...
Before heading for the movie, we went for lunch at Dome!

Calamari to share
Not bad... I've never had calamari which went wrong. >.<

Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce
The worst marinara sauce I've ever tasted!
Really disappointed. To be honest, this is THE ONLY food which interests me in the entire menu.

J had some kind of Beef Sandwich and he liked it!
He said it's better than the beef steak in Maison Kayser.
Well, probably it's 'cos this beef from Dome is Wagyu.
I didn't take a photo of his food as he wolf it down real fast.

Now back to the movie. It's an alright movie.
It tells of a boy (Noah) who fell in love with Jennifer Lopez whom I believe is Claire in the movie.
Claire realized that it's a mistake but Noah didn't think so.
It turned into an obsession and we have a Noah who can't keep his aggressiveness down.
Claire's sister died while helping her and Claire got back to her husband. They were separated as the husband cheated on her.

So there you go! Jennifer Lopez still look pretty and her figure - whoa! Darn good... Ha ha...

Have a great Wednesday peeps!

A Lift from Dead Passion

I've not been feeling motivated when it comes to card creation these weeks.
It seemed like I was more interested towards healthy eating, healthy recipes and clean eating.
My BFF started to tell me that the cards that I've been making recently don't look like I put in much effort. In other words, they are just so-so and not pretty enough to garner likes. Ha ha...
Her comment really got to me and somehow, she got me motivated.
I sat on my art table yesterday thinking why I lacked passion and creativity.
I then shifted my stamps to another location where I'll have better access.
Thereafter, I sat on the chair, looking through my stamps and managed to create some nicer cards.
I guess I'm able to perform better now that I can SEE my stamps better.
Enough said... Take a look!

So that's about all! 4 cards in 1 evening. I must say it's pretty good... ^^
Thank You BFF!

Have a great day ahead!

Meet Up with JJ

Yay... it's been at least 6 months since I've met up with JJ!
So happy to finally have the chance to do so!
We went to Pasarbella. I just thought it's nice as the atmosphere is nice, it's secluded and the food's good! I found new food which are nice. My 1st visit wasn't as pleasant.

Roast Pork and Honey Pork with Garlic Mash and Herb Potatoes
Our 2 choices of sauce are Applesauce and Mustard
The mustard was oh-la-la. I love it!
Applesauce on its own is nice but with the food, it doesn't quite blend in.
The roast pork is OTT! Crispy to the max man... A MUST try!
Honey Pork was good. I would however go for the roast pork ANYTIME!
The garlic mash is forgettable and the herb potatoes was good with the mustard sauce. On its own, it was alright...

Close-Up look at the Honey Pork
I believe the name of the stall is Crackling Roast or something like that.
The gravy you see in this photo is for the honey pork.
Even when the roast pork is in contact with the gravy, it still retains the crispiness! Lovely man...

Next to the roast pork stall is a stall which sells quiche!
JJ got this - she don't remember the name of it.
Cheesy and nice. Yumz...

We later went out of Pasarbella and venture around the compound.
Bumped into a shop which sells Gelato.
Ordered Jasmine Green Tea along with 3 flavors of gelato.
The flavors are Lychee Martini (forgettable), Peanut Butter Choc (yummy) & Honey Yogurt (ok...).

It was really nice catching up with JJ and Pasarbella has been revived in my opinion! ^^

Have a great Tuesday peeps!

3rd Parcel from iHerb

I'm really excited to have received my 3rd parcel from iHerb.
Let me show you guys what I got...

I've yet to try these but the Peppermint was a repeat purchase.

I'm going to make Granola Bars with these oats and probably a tbsp or 2 of the wheat bran.
I'm curious to find out if it taste any different with the added wheat bran.

I'm really looking forward to trying these out.

Spectrum Essentials Ground Flaxseed which is a repeat purchase.
Bergin Dried Apricots. I got these as the Made in Nature ones are out of stock
and they have been out of stock for a long time...

I got the pomegranate juice, concentrate I should say, is simply 'cos it's good for your health!
Maple syrup I got it for my pancakes which I'm going to make over the weekend and I can also use it instead of honey for Granola Bars.

Have a great Monday peeps!

What I had for Lunches in Week 5

A recap...

This is what I had for lunch on Monday, 26th Jan.
Black Bean & Corn Salsa, Balsamic Chicken & Quinoa cooked in chicken stock!
Best lunch so far... No kidding...
As for my snack, it's a banana.

I had Wholemeal Spaghetti with Black Bean & Corn Salsa (I love this thing man...)
for lunch on 27th Jan, Tuesday.

I made Granola Bars (Cranberries & Apple) in the evening of 26th Jan, Monday.
I had a piece of this as my snack on 27th Jan, Tuesday. Yummy... Not too sweet too! ^^

Come 28th Jan, Wednesday, my lunch is the same as what I had on 26th Jan i.e. Black Bean & Corn Salsa, Balsamic Chicken & Quinoa cooked in chicken stock. My snack was however slightly different. See photo below:

My yummy Cranberry & Apple Granola crumbs with Light Greek Yogurt
It's light greek yogurt 'cos the helper bought the wrong one. I usually take the standard version and somehow, I don't know for what reason, she bought the light version.

My lunch on 29th Jan, Thursday
This is Quinoa with Smoked Paprika Salmon and Black Bean & Corn Salsa
Taste good... Love salmon with smoked paprika. My 1st!

Snack was Light Greek Yogurt with Cranberry & Apple Granola Crumbs!

Lunch for 30th Jan, Friday is the same as the one on 29th Jan, Thursday.
I did however make some Hummus last night
and so for my snack today, it's Hummus with Carrot Sticks! Photo below:

I did add some Cayenne powder on my Hummus today.
Chickpeas has lots of fibre which is good for me...

This more or less sums up what I had for weekdays.
Come weekend, I give my body a rest and go with what my helper cooks at home.
Weekends is also the time I have a few meals away from home. ^^
I'm going to include in exercise (walking for an hour) in my daily routine come February 2015.

My weight is at 63 kgs and % of fats is 34.1.
I'll see how much I can lose in the next month and will blog about it!

Have a great weekend peeps!

Saturday, 24th Jan Produce!

I've been really productive last Saturday. Check out what I made!

Black Bean & Corn Salsa
I got this recipe from Laura Vitale
I had the chance to eat it for lunch today and I must say this goes very well with quinoa!
In fact, it's so good and light, you can even eat it on its own!
Yummy is the word. ^^

As mentioned in previous post, I bought wholewheat flour to make wholemeal bread.
This is not 100% wholewheat flour. I did mix in some unbleached all-purpose flour.
Those at the back, I added some rolled oats. Those in front are plain.
I like them! My helper commented that those in front looked like boobs. Ha ha...

What is hummus without chickpeas?!
I made mine from scratch. Meaning, I cook raw ones.
Frankly speaking, if you do not have the time to spare, go for the canned ones.
I would just stick to canned ones once I'm done with what I have on hand.

I did also cook some mushroom soup.
No photo though...
I had it for breakfast this morning and I don't like it.
I've asked my helper to cook her version for me come next Mon.
For now, I'm stuck with this failed batch for the remaining weekdays... =(

Have a great day ahead!
