Old School Delights

I went there after my cousin told me that it's worth checking out.
He liked the ambiance. Food wise, he said it's alright.
Since it's near my working place, I went there for lunch on 2 occasions!

First time round, I sat on Table 10
I was given a board to write down the food I want to order.
Thereafter, I hand this board back to the staff there.

Games of my generation can be found at every table

Barley with Lemon
Verdict: Alright... Wouldn't order again though

Hey Bee Hiam Pulut
Verdict: I can taste the Hey Bee Hiam. I had wanted it to be spicy. Nice... This, I will order again.

Hainanese Chicken Cutlet Rice
Verdict: Overall, I didn't like this as much though I'm very impressed with the chicken. Till today, I'm still wondering how they can make the chicken crispy yet not greasy AT ALL! Airfryer perhaps???
I didn't like the sauce on the chicken and the rice is tasteless even though it smelled great.

Pound Cake
Verdict: It still taste pretty good after putting it in the fridge for a day. I'm sure it'll taste great on the same day of purchase. I just forgot about it. Heh heh...

On my 2nd visit, I ordered this - Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Verdict: Yummy... I would definitely order this again.

I visited the eatery especially on Friday as the Horfun is only available from Friday to Sunday.

Horfun in Mushroom Sauce
Chicken Kibbles
Verdict: I LURRRVVVEEE the horfun. They are really generous with their mushroom. I love mushrooms! Easy to consume too!
The chicken kibbles was good too! Like the chicken in the Hainanese dish, this was crispy and not greasy. Can I also say that their chili padi is also very spicy? This shows that it's fresh!

Well, that's it for me. I'll most probably visit Old School Delights for the Horfun and I'll definitely give their Sticky Chewy Chocolate Cake a try. A staff was preparing it when I was about to leave on my 2nd visit.

Year of Jubilee

09th August 2015 is the Year of Jubilee for Singapore and boy am I so proud to be a Singaporean!
I went to Marina Bay Sands and I was so surprised with the crowd.
I spent a good 4 hours plus standing all the way.
Is it worth it? Watch on...

After a few hours at Marina Bay Sands, I went to Gardens By The Bay to catch some fireworks.
I heard that the fireworks at Marina Bay Sands is more grand but I don't regret going to Gardens By The Bay. It's just less crowded.

Straight after the fireworks, I head for home. Crowd everywhere and it's madness in the train station.
I'm glad I made it home in one piece and pretty early at that! I was so tired, I fell asleep immediately when I hit the bed after my shower.

Come the next day, I brought First Born along with S to Singapore Science Centre.

Queued for hours for this - Human Body Works
I had to take a picture standing in front of it.
I was trying to aim for his nose. Oh well... Eyes will do just as well. =)

Other than the Human Body Works, the rest remains pretty much the same. Hence, we decided to take a cab down to Harbourfront to catch a free ride on the cable car. I've not taken a cable car ride in Singapore. I've taken one in Hong Kong though. When we reached there, we were told that the wait will be 8 hours! No thank you... We didn't bother queuing and left for Vivocity which is within the vicinity. Bought some tea for J and took the train home.

So that pretty much sums up my 4-day break for this Jubilee period.
Fellow Singaporeans, how did you fare during the Jubilee period?

LUSH Haul - August 2015 (Part 3)

I can now officially say that I'm crazy about LUSH now.
I went there yet AGAIN! Let's dive in!!!

Tea Tree Water
I just have to get this as my smaller bottle has about 1/4 left.

Oatifix
The SA put a huge portion on my hands and let it rest for a minute.
Then, she asked me to rub it around my hands and after washing, I'm left with a pair of really soft hands. Not really what I wanted for my hands but I was so impressed with the softness, I bought it!
I'm sure I'll include this in my weekly routine now.
Oatifix is meant for the face but who says you can't experiment?! Lol...

Space Girl
Grapefruit Oil, Bergamot Oil, Almond Essential Oil just to name a few ingredients.
Got this one as the SA told me LUSH is going to discontinue it.

Phoenix Rising
Shea Butter, Bergamot Oil, Cassia Oil just to name a few ingredients. Oh! And cinnamon sticks!
No wonder I picked this up!
Got this one as the SA told me LUSH is going to discontinue it.

Lucky enough to be given a sample of Full of Grace.
I was told by the SA that I can use this as a replacement for moisturizer. Either this or I can apply this before applying a mask as this helps the skin to absorb the mask better. Hmmm...

Lucky enough to be given a sample of Dirty Soap.
Spearmint Oil, Thyme Oil just to name a few ingredients.
Such minty smell, I can't stop sniffing it!
This will DEFINITELY be a soap I'm going back for!
Right now, I'm still trying very hard to finish my block of Sultana of Soap.
I'm thinking of moving to either Bohemian or Sandstone after that. I need me some lemon!

Have a great day Peeps!

Lush Haul - August 2015 (Part 2)

What?! Another?!
Ha ha... Yes dear, another one...
Don't get me wrong. I don't wish to camp in LUSH. Ha ha...
Watch it if you will. Else, read on...

Big Solid Conditioner
I like that this is light on my hair and still make it soft to the touch.
The only thing I didn't like about this is having to go through the hassle of putting a dollop of it on my palm and using some water to 'dissolve' it just like how I would do for Herbalism or Dark Angels.

As Lush sells these 'virgin' products in weights of 100g, I bought this which weighs 154g.

D'Fluff
Previously, I bought a small tub of this to shave my legs with.
I like that it makes my legs soft and smooth, it doesn't make my legs itchy after shaving and it smells great! Real strawberries is one of its major ingredients.
That small tub only gave me about 3 x shaves. I could probably get 2 x shaves more out of it.
I didn't want to ever run out of this and hence, went and got myself a bigger tub this time round!
I ALWAYS use this with Ro's Argan. They are a perfect combination in my opinion...

Soft Coeur (the Honeymooner)
So far, when it comes to massage bars, I've only used Each Peach (and Two's a Pair).
I bought Wiccy Magic Muscles recently and have yet to try it out.
This time, I just couldn't resist getting another one, seeing how adorable this looks and smells!
Honey, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Powder, Almond Oil, Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Bergamot Oil just to name a few. A whiff is enough for me to bring it home! ^^

I also bought 1 x round container for my New Shampoo & 3 x square containers for T'eo, Soft Coeur and Big Solid Conditioner

Samples of Veganese which is a very light conditioner for fine hair and Lovely Jubblies which is a firming cream for the breasts. I must say I got a sample of the Lovely Jubblies not for my breasts but rather, for my neck. I've some lines on my neck and I would like to do something about it. Don't get me wrong. I embrace aging but I want to age gracefully. Besides, I've come to realize that our neck is pretty much the area which we give the least attention to. It don't have to be that way. Hence, I've decided to show some TLC to my precious neck. I asked for some moisturizer for my neck initially and was recommended this when I told the SA about my fine lines.
As for Veganese, as I really detest the hassle of 'dissolving' Big Solid Conditioner, I've decided to give Veganese a try. I just use it last night and I must say I'm really happy with it! I've decided to get a bottle of it AFTER I'm done with my 154g of Big Solid Conditioner. Ha ha...

Have a lovely Monday Y'all!!!

LUSH Haul - August 2015 (Part 1)

I'm in desperate need for Hand Cream!
All the dishes, laundry etc. done over the past 3 weeks left my hands really dry.
I am not pleased at all!
Also, I like the samples given by Lush previously which means it's time to get them in real size!
Check out what I got!

Herbalism & Mask of Magnaminty
I'm really happy with both products and hence, I decided to re-stock!
My current stock is running low. In fact, I just finished 1 x tub of Herbalism.
Come tomorrow, I'm going to start on my 2nd tub. As for Mask of MM, I gather I'll be able to stretch it for another 2 or 3 times before starting on my 2nd tub.

Dark Angels
I got this to improve on the condition of my oily skin.
Not that I'm unhappy with my current regime (Herbalism, Tea Tree Toner, Enzymion on a daily basis and once a week of Mask of MM). I just want it to be EVEN better.
Previously, I used Angels on Bare Skin and I didn't like it as I find it not 'abrasive' enough.
This Dark Angels? It sure is 'abrasive'! I would say that it's more hard core than Ocean Salt.
I was afraid it's too much for my delicate face after using it for the 1st time.
I shared my concerns with the SA and she said that she too find it too much for her skin. She use this on her body instead. Hmmm... good idea though I would still prefer Ocean Salt for the body. >.<

Mint Julips
My 1st container was purchased in Year 2012. I kept it till Year 2015.
Through these years, I've used it less than 5 times.
Let's just say I've never had the habit of exfoliating my lips.
I tried using it even though it's way past its expiry date.
Don't like it as it dried up pretty badly. Hence, I got myself another one and I was really glad to find the new one more 'moist'. I guess one can only really tell the difference when they put an expired one and a fresh one side by side. ^^

Dream Cream
On many occasions, I wanted to get a hand lotion and I failed miserably.
This time round, I vowed to get one.
I decided on this as it's not as greasy and it smells of lavender! I luuurrrvveeee lavender!
For my poor hands, I would say this is too light for me but given another chance, I would still buy this. Why? Simply because it's not as greasy as the others!

Jumping Juniper
This is good for oily hair and so I got it. Also, it has lavender in it. Another plus!
I've not used it yet. I want to bring this along with me for my Taiwan trip this November and I don't want to get it wet as yet. I'm sure this product will not disappoint!

 Roots (Scalp Treatment)
Apologies for insufficient lighting.
I was given a sample and I liked it.
So, I decided to get it in real size!

Big Shampoo
I like this as well after being given a sample of it.
I like the volume it gives my hair.

Grease Lightning
Bought this to control the oil on my face though I've not been faithful in applying it.
I always seem to forget it. Perhaps I should keep reminding myself of its existence. Ha!
I bought this mainly for First Born's face. He's going through puberty now and a few pimples have started to pop up. I doubt he knows how to take care of his face. This is the little bit that I can do...

 New Shampoo
Bought this as the SA says this is a shampoo which goes very well with Roots.
It's also good for hair loss and oily scalp.
Since I've not started on Jumping Juniper, I can't compare them together.
This one smells of cinnamon which isn't my favorite thing though I like the smell of it for cooking and desserts and very rarely, coffee.

Wiccy Magic Muscles
This is supposedly good for aching/sore muscles.
I've yet to try it though. I don't quite like the smell of it.
I'm going to give it a try after the sore on my neck has healed.

T'eo (Deodorant)
Since my teenage years till now, I've always been a faithful Body Shop customer and buy my deodorant from them. When I found out that LUSH sells deodorant as well, I knew I've GOT to give it a try! I highly doubt a sample can be given. I didn't even bother to ask! I just got it and how do I like it? I LOVE it! It doesn't stain my tops even the black ones. If it does (sometimes staining occurs when you try to wear your top), you can simply remove them with some tap water! I don't do vigorous work. I work in an office and at times, I do travel out into the hot sun for lunch. T'eo is pretty much odorless. It has lemongrass in it and when you bring it to your nose for a whiff, you can smell something but after application, no smell at all! I gave my armpits a smell after more than 8 hours wear and I honestly smell nothing. Not even a scent of fragrance even! No bad smell either! ^^
Big Solid Conditioner
No photo here as I forgot to take one.
When I remembered, I finished it.
I was after all, given a sample!
Read on my next post to find out more on what my thoughts are for this product!

Have a great one Peeps!
Oh and fellow Singaporeans, HAPPY SG50! Extended holiday! Whoo hoo...!!!

A Way to Youth & A Healthier You

Today, I'm going to tell you something which may have been the solution to my constipation woes.
I've been taking a powerful drink called Reserve.
You can buy it via this site
Let me go on and tell you more about the product.

I've been taking it for 1 month plus.
After around 2 weeks of consumption, I realized that there's an improvement to my constipation problem! I do my major once a day almost on a daily basis on weekdays.
Don't ask me why not on the weekends. I guess this product is after all, NOT a miracle and time is required to solve any problems.
This makes me a really happy gal as I no longer has to calculate the amount of fibre I have to take on a daily basis in order to visit the loo. I also no longer have to restrict myself to eating certain food which have high fibre content.

After 1 month plus of consumption, I realized a few sores on my body.
This is what people calling - Healing Crisis.
Some people experience it within 2 months of consumption. Some, 1 year.
The less clogged up your system, the sooner you'll feel it I guess... =)
Taste wise, it's nice! Not sweet. Just slightly tangy.
Ever taken a bunch of berries in puree form? Just like that!

Let me just extract what is on the website:

What is it?!

LUSH Haul - July 2015 (Part 2)

Hi Peeps! So I went to Lush again on 12th July 2015.
This time round, I'm going to make sure I get that Body Lotion! Ha ha...
Did I get any in the end? Read on to find out...

 Ultrablast Toothy Tabs
Verdict: Didn't like it. I guess I'm used to my standard toothpaste which is from Sensodyne.
Says this on Lush's website:
Sparkle Toothy Tab is a dose of sweet vanilla flavor with a hint of Sicilian lemon and grapefruit, and makes for a very effective palate cleanser. Crunch up Sparkle between your chompers and brush, brush, brush for refreshing foam with a hint of spice, thanks to stimulating black pepper oil. You’ll be left with a smile so brilliant and squeaky clean, your dentist won’t believe their eyes.

Tea Tree Toner Tab
I've yet to use this. I intend to use this to steam my face. Thereafter, put on the Mask of Magnaminty on my face to draw out the impurities.

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner
Remember I said previously that I hate the waxy feel of this product? This product & I, we have a love-hate relationship. In the end, I got it as I want the smoothness of my skin w/o having to do it on a daily basis. Hence, I ditched the idea of getting a Body Lotion and got a Body Conditioner instead! Now, I'll just have to train myself to get used to the waxy feel... =(

Enzymion
I got this as I applied it on Sunday morning and found it to be really light and easily absorbed into my face. 3 hours later, hardly any oil on my face. Love it! Hence, I got a small tub of it.

Honey Trap
Turns out to be one of Lush's bestseller. Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Honey, Peppermint Oil, just to name a few ingredients. Lightly scented.
Says this on Lush's website:
Our product inventors worked hard in the labs, experimenting with all sorts of different flavors before they landed on this seductive honey lip balm. Honey Trap is filled with toning sweet orange and cooling peppermint to soothe dry, chapped lips. Rich honey moisturizes and melted white chocolate is part of that delectable flavor. After all that chocolate tasting and kissing we did in the name of innovation, we think Honey Trap can certainly be considered our most delicious lip balm to date. It's a hard life we have here at LUSH.

None of Your Beeswax
For Vegans. Not scented.
Now you might ask why I need TWO lip balm. Well, for days when I do not put on lipstick, I'll go for Honey Trap. For days when I do put on lipstick, I'll go for None of Your Beeswax! ^^
Says this on Lush's website:
You may not realize it, but our vegan customers can appreciate how difficult it is to find lip products made without beeswax or honey. We invented this lip balm for them! A light, citrus blend that leaves your lips beautifully soft, None of Your Beeswax tastes of lemon, mandarin and vanilla. If that wasn’t fantastic enough, we add extra virgin coconut oil, murumuru butter and carnauba wax (as an alternative to beeswax) to keep your lips soft and supple. It's so delicious that all the non-vegans have been using it, too.

Volcano Foot Mask
Bought this eon years back. Can't remember if I liked it. Got it again!
Says this on Lush's website:
To avoid eruptions of noxious fumes, and for the softest soles imaginable - slather on our thick kaolin and pumice Volcano foot mask to draw out deep down dirt and slough off rough skin. We raided the produce bin and added fresh papaya and lemon juices to cleanse, as well as tomatoes, potatoes and anti-fungal essential oils to deodorize against odor and foot gremlins. After putting up your feet for ten minutes, massage off using the pumice blend to scrub off dead skin cells and you’ll be left with soft, lovely and smell-free feet.

Fair Trade Foot Lotion
Gave it a whiff, I'm sold!
Verdict: I've been using it faithfully every night before going to bed. I noticed that the cracks on my soles are less obvious. Even J said it's softer when I asked him to take a look!
Says this on Lush's website:
Put your feet up and treat them fairly with our pinkest, perkiest, and mintiest foot lotion. Our restorative cream for feet is made with mega moisturizing organic Fair Trade cocoa butter. An added double dose of revitalizing spearmint and peppermint makes sore feet feel cool and helps to relieve aches and pains after being stuck in shoes. Plus, we’ve added soothing arnica and marigold herbs to take away the weariness and get your feet ready for another run in the rat race. Treat your feet fairly and slather on generously at the end of a long day.

Lullaby Shampoo Bar
I asked the SA for a shampoo which I can use twice daily and she got me this! She said it's meant for kids so that's how gentle it is. I gave it a whiff and I'm sold AGAIN! I did get a tin for storage.
Verdict: I wash my hair twice a day on a daily basis. I usually use my Nioxin Shampoo in the mornings and Lullaby Shampoo in the nights. I noticed that Lullaby gives my hair a very clean feel.
Says this on Lush's website:
A calming combination of chamomile, ground almonds and oat milk to gently soothe your scalp. Let the Tunisian sourced neroli oil raise your spirits - it's proven to aid the release of serotonin (the happy hormone). Lavender oil helps to relax and balance, making this bar ideal for children two years and up!

Sweetie Pie Jelly
Got this just cos it smells nice with cherries
Verdict: Smells wonderful. I used some to wash my undergarments! Love how wobbly it is...
Says this on Lush's website:
Our sweetest shower jelly is also our best-seller! Between the fruity fragrance, the iridescent glitter that leaves a sparkle on your skin, and the seaweed base that leaves your skin softened and refreshed, it’s irresistible. And while we know our blackcurrant and sour cherry wobbler smells good enough to eat, we recommend you curb your cravings and hop in the shower and wash with Sweetie Pie instead. Smooth it all over your body (and your hair too!) for a sweet yet sophisticated cleansing experience.

And of course, I got to have some soap in my bag...

Parsley Porridge
Sandalwood Oil, Thyme Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Fresh Parsley, just to name a few ingredients.
Says this on Lush's website:
For a super squeaky clean, hop in the shower and lather up with Parsley Porridge soap. It’s power-packed with dirt-busting ingredients like fresh parsley, finely ground oatmeal, thyme, tea tree oil and aloe gel. Suitable for your whole body, its creamy lather gently exfoliates to help remove dead skin, while keeping it soothed and cool. This nourishing green machine will keep spotty or disturbed skin cleansed and clear. Use it in the shower or leave it by the kitchen sink for a blast of herbal refreshment.

Honey I Washed the Kids
Funny name. Bought this mainly for its honey. ^^
Says this on Lush's website:
Honey I Washed the Kids is one of our best-selling soaps because it’s simply irresistible. People who fully intended to walk past a LUSH shop find themselves unable to resist its sweet caramel fragrance. You’ll inhale, drool, pick up a big chunk and immediately want to wash yourself all over with it. It’s so gentle, buttery and scrumptious you’ll have a hard time keeping it to yourself. The honey water and aloe are so softening and moisturizing, you can use our toffee-scented sensation on the whole family.

Sandstone
Got this as I love lemon scent and I asked the SA which one I can get other than Bohemian!
Says this on Lush's website:
The exfoliating citrus and sandy one. On the glorious beaches of Rio de Janeiro, stunning Brazilian babes, and their mothers, mix up tanning oil with the fine sand and scrub their backsides to make them as smooth as silk. Sandstone soap has a layer of sand and the seductive scent of a caipirinha cocktail.

Got a sample of Roots which is a hair treatment and Big which is a shampoo which gives your hair volume. Watched quite a few YouTube videos on Roots and can't wait to give it a go!

Total damage? Close to 300 bucks!

Don't like to read it? Watch it then!
