Smaller Pores

I've always suffered problems with my pores. I'm always not satisfied with them and find them too big for my liking. Nobody's perfect you say. I'm not going to stop finding solutions. I'm not asking for baby's skin but I want them minimized!

Guess what? I've managed to achieve that! Hooray! BUT!!! I have no idea HOW!!! Arrrgggghhhhh!!! I've been doing the same thing day in day out. The only difference is I've now made it a habit to have make-up applied on my face on weekdays and one of the products I've been using is Pore Minimizer from Clinique. I believe this is the one which made my pores smaller in appearance. Some products stuck in my face? I didn't do a proper removal at the end of the day? So not true! I always remove my make-up with make-up remover from Fancl and this product is well known for removing make-up. It's a cleansing oil. Thereafter, I cleanse my face TWICE with my Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser. Talk about squeaky clean!

I asked J as well and he agrees that my pores have taken a turn for the better! Great stuff! And now, I'm a slightly happier person! ^^

Picture of the product which I believe helped me achieve pores smaller in appearance:

I don't remember the retail price. Not more than 40 bucks I suppose.
Expensive? Well, you only need a teeny weeny bit so I guess the price is fine...

Skincare Regime

Alright! This is what I do to my face, every morning when I'm up:
  1. Gentle Foaming Cleanser from Clarins
  2. Lotion Tonique (Normal or Dry Skin) from Clarins
  3. Defining Eye Lift from Clarins
  4. Shaping Facial Lift from Clarins
  5. HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase from Clarins
  6. HydraQuench Cream-Gel
For night, I do everything the same except for no. 5 and 6, I replaced it with Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum from Clarins and Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Comfort Cream from Clarins.

Twice a week, I would exfoliate my face with Gentle Refiner Exfoliation Cream from Clarins. I go for facials fortnightly, every Saturday. I treat my face to mask every Wednesday and Saturday. Days when I have my facial, I don't do a mask myself. DUH!

For mask, I would do the following pairing:

One
Kose Mask White
Lancome Genifique
Remarks: The mask from Kose is deep cleansing and hence, after this mask, I want to inject all goodness into my face and that's why it's followed by Lancome Genifique.

Two
Pure & Radiant Mask from Clarins for my forehead and nose
HydraQuench Cream Mask for the rest of the face
Remarks: This, I try to do weekly as my skin is always dehydrated. It's dehydrated deep down and oily on the surface. My T-zone tends to have oil faster and that's why I use the Pure & Radiant Mask for that area.

Three
Skin Food Egg White nose, forehead and chin peel
Skin Food Peppermint Pore Diet Mask Peel Off for the rest of the face

Of course, I exfoliate before my mask all the time.

I also sometimes use Payot Mousse Clarte instead of Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser and Payot Tonique Purifiant instead of Clarins Lotion Tonique.

It seems like I have a lot of products but believe me, it's not. A couple of items are travel size. Also, the Payot items were purchased from Yi Zhi Xuan - the place where I do my fornightly facials. I've patronize there for many years. I'll cover that another day.

So there you go! All these done as maintenance and hope of having good skin EVERYDAY!

Muddle Headed

Yes yes, I can be muddle headed sometimes. I was so in love with the lip butters that I decide to see if there's more colors. Perhaps a shopping mall would carry a bigger range? I went to L'Oreal and wonder why I can't find them. I still couldn't figure it out till 2nd September 2012 while typing away. Ha ha... Aiyo... want lip butters, how to find from L'Oreal?! Gotta find from Revlon mah... Yes yes, I know... Anyway, due to me behaving like a blur sotong, I ended up purchasing lip gloss instead. 4 of them some more... Check it out!

(L-R)
No. 703 Miss Marshmallow
No. 706 Miss Orange
No. 707 Glam Shine
No. 708 Miss Apricot

Swatches

Here's a photo of No. 706 on me. 2 coats and no other colors involved.

Why like no color de? Swatches look good leh!!!
Aiya... I think it's due to my bare lips. Not neutral to begin with. ^^

Note: They retail for $15.90 each @ Watsons. I'm not sure if it's under promotion when I purchased them but I was given a discount of $3.18 each which gives me a savings of $12.72 in total. Not bad considering I can have 4 bowls of fishball noodles with it. Ha ha...

Happy Wednesday!

Change in Mobile

I used to carry the iPhone 3GS. Then one freaky accident in Genting caused me to lose it. Let's not go there... And so, I bought myself an iPhone 4 once I got back to Singapore. I've had it for a few years and I'm addicted to it. It's the first thing I reach out for in the morning and the last thing I let go before I hit the sack. I'm terrified at how dependant of it but like everyone else, I CAN'T HELP IT!!! I guess I'm a slave to my phone. I do browsing with it, I play games with it, I message with it. The applications available... Watsapp alone is enough to entice me. Facebook - aren't most of us addicted to it? I know of a few people who aren't and I salute them for it!

Why change then? Practicality comes into the picture and is too strong for the iPhone to overcome. You see, no one phone is perfect. The iPhone sucks BIG time on emails. Even sending emails take such a long time. I'm getting sick of it. The major reason for the decision comes when one of my Indonesian customer commented,"Why don't you carry a BlackBerry? Everyone in Indonesia carries that. Easier to communicate too!" The BB has BBM - BlackBerry Message which acts like Watsapp. Indonesia is one of the major countries purchasing the product I'm offering. In order not to inconvenience my customers and wanting to work efficiently, I've decided to switch to a BB owner. Rest in peace my iPhone!

Thanks to Ms. H, I managed to decide the model.

BB Bold 9900
I purchased this at $188.00 with Flexi Value plan with SingTel

According to the SA from Singtel, this gadget has been in the market for at least a year. However, it's the most popular model sought after from this brand. J has used this some time back and he's experienced problems with it. He got it when the phone was just launched into the Singapore market. I believe that any mobile phones will only be better after a while. If you follow the trend and purchase it when it's just out in the market, there's a high tendency of experiencing glitches. Well, that's just my opinion. Having said so much, I hope that this BB be very guai and serves me well many years down the road.

What's going to happen to my iPhone then? Hmmm... I'm not sure if I can take photos with it w/o a sim card. If so, I would very much prefer taking photos with it rather than with the BB. Somehow, the iPhone wins in this category. Don't compare it with DSLR and the likes lah...

Skin Food

I went to purchase a new mobile @ AMK Hub on 1st September 2012. I've read from a blogger, raving about a product from Skin Food and so, I've decided to check it out.

Strips to get rid of blackheads and impurities from your nose, forehead AND chin! Talk about efficiency! I'm so excited, I got 2 packs!

That's not all... Is there even a possibility to head straight to the cashier, pay up and leave? No no no... Not for me at least. I ended up walking around. I've settled for nose, forehead and chin. What about my cheeks? I can't use the pink mask on my entire face forever can I? Even if I'd love to, I can't. Why? Simply because that's catered for the nose only! A few usage for my face is alright but in the long run, I don't think it's helping my skin very much. I'm afraid my skin will lose it's elasticity. Anyway, using a product which is not meant for a specific area is BAD... *bleats like a sheep*

I've yet to try this. It contains peppermint = cool sensation. Let me try it out on 5th September 2012. Stay tuned!

Shampoo and Hair Tonic

People who know me, know that I've issues with my hair. I've oily scalp and dry ends. The fact that my hair is fine isn't helping. I've tried hair treatments with Phyto, Trichokare, some other brands and they aren't helping at all! Why can't I have a crown full of healthy hair? I promise not to dye them... *big sigh* Oh well... again, I spent money buying Hope. Let's see how this pans out...

Since I've a BB cream from Garnier, I thought I should try this out. The former isn't oil control. After 3 hours, I believe you can find me in a dark room with the help of my shiny nose. MOMMY LOOK! IT GLOWS!!! Enough of my nonsense. Let's see if the BB cream is better from Skin Food. If yes, I can say adios to Lancome.

I can't believe I found these. You know most eye mask (sheet form) only covers your eye bags? I've yet to find one which covers the entire eyes. When I finally found it, I ended up getting 10 of them!

Buying just these stuff cost me at least 200 bucks! The positive side? I'm eligible to be a member! As if that's really a positive side. Pui! It's just a way to console myself... Anyway, I was given some freebies... See below:

Cotton Pads. Wah... as if I needed them. I can get a big chunk of it from Watsons.

A face mask. Haiz... so many in the fridge liaoz. Ended up dumping this into my 'bag of extras'.

More masks... Why got food de? Beats me.
Can give me voucher to some nice food restaurants instead?

So many products, just 1 face. ^^

Time for VCDs and DVDs

I went into a frenzy recently. I went in to That CD shop and another shop (I forgot the name of the shop) in AMK Hub recently. I see, I take, I pay. Retailers will be happy if EVERY one of their customers is like me. No indecisiveness, no contemplation, no procrastination. Honestly just walk in, browse quickly and take whichever I fancy. No picking it up then putting it back only to pick it up later again. Ha! Enough! I let the pictures do the talking...

The following were purchased from That CD Shop @ Tanglin Mall

He's the ANZ guy. I first got to know him through movie - The Devil Wears Prada. Aiyo... why so charming one? Anyway, that's not the reason why I purchased these. The Mentalist was aired many years back and I do enjoy it very much though I didn't catch majority of the episodes. Hence, I got these now to enjoy with J on weekday nights and Sunday nights. Mio has a few good movies and days where we cannot find a good one, we will fish out the VCDs and DVDs that we've bought.

This I purchased because of Robert De Niro. This guy is amazing! I first saw the advertisement in the papers and had the intention to catch it in the movie theatre with J but somehow, it slipped off my mind.

These, I bought to watch with his kiddos come Friday nights. Light, humorous, suitable for kids. My only worry is that they've watched it before. I tell you, they are really up to date with movies! Ha!

The following I purchased from the un-named shop in AMK Hub.

This is the reason why I even step foot into the shop! J used to have this and when I had wanted to watch it at home, the disc wasn't working well. Irritating! We went to various shops to get it but it was out of stock! Horror! Deep inside, I was thinking - Is this THAT popular?! I went to AMK Hub on 1st September 2012 to get a new phone and decided to give this shop a try. Lo and Behold! I found it! See that orange sticker there? A gimmick to get consumers to spend more money and I fell for it!

I got this in order to be eligible for the 5 dollars discount. Ha! Well, I've always liked Helen Hunt. Let's just give this a try...

I then saw this on my way to the cashier and couldn't resist. Look at the people and the title. I had to get it. See that 10 cents sticker there? Another gimmick and I FELL FOR IT AGAIN! I'm speechless!

Got this as J likes Clive Owen.

We watched Shoot 'Em Up last night. I must say the character of Clive Owen - very clever BUT! Unrealistic to me. J enjoyed it very much though it's the 2nd time he's watching it. *shrugs*

Took this when the SA was scanning my purchases. Why get it? Well, I've not seen the movie and I wonder what the hype was all about. Where's the hype? China Glaze (a nail polish brand) actually came up with a range of colors named Hunger Games. To me, that's all about enough to be considered a hype. My way of thought. You don't have to agree. ^^

Phew... If I can buy so many disc within a couple of days, imagine what I can buy for other stuff! Ha! These should last me for a while... I heard that it's Season 4 now for The Mentalist but the disc ain't out yet. Hmmm...

Signing off...

Revlon Lip Butters

Previously, I mentioned that I purchased 2 x lip butters from Revlon - Tutti Frutti and Sweet Tart. Tutti Frutti is a light orange color and sweet tart is a pinkish one.

My bare lips

Tutti Frutti

Pardon part of my nostrils. I anyhow apply de 'cos I just woke up. I've not even brushed my teeth! I do all these to cater to Ms. H's request. Ha! Anyway, this is after 2 coats.

Tutti Frutti with Dior Addict Ultra Gloss 472 Pearl

Add in a pinkish gloss and the whole lips appear to be pink.
Any hint of orange? I can barely see the orange in this!

So far, the lip butters are moisturizing and seems to be able to last quite a while. I only need to touch up on the gloss. Very happy with these. Cheap and good. I'm amazed!

I'll upload photos of Sweet Tart after I managed to take some pictures of it.

Bon Sunday!
