Kose Seikisho Mask White & Origins Charcoal Mask

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask

This is how it looks like

Many years back, an ex-colleague introduced me to Origins Charcoal Mask. You apply it on your face, leave it on for say 15 - 30 minutes (honestly, I don't remember) and then wash it off. It made my skin feels clean. Time passes and I got sick of using it. I very much prefer the peel off ones. Besides, I'm 3/4 done with this mask, as you can see from the photo. What do I proceed to then?

Kose Seikisho Mask White

When I was studying in a Secondary School, I would notice how good this mask was everytime I passes by the counter in a departmental store.

Like the Origins, this is also of thick consistency

In later years, I decided to try it out. It's the peel off kind which suits me very well. It also made my skin feels very clean. When I peel it off, it reminded me of the pink mask I purchased from Watsons. It's as if you are peeling the skin off your face. Have you watched Face Off before? By Nicholas Cage and John Travolta? Funny how this mask reminds me of that movie.

Peel it off, face felt clean and soft. Smoother as well since most of the impurities would have been removed along with it. Don't expect your blackheads to be removed entirely. This is a white mask, not a miracle mask.

I'm so happy with it, I bought another tube!

OOTD #11

Dress: Padini Concept Store/Seed
Price: RM129.00

I went crazy during this trip to Genting. This is just one of the dresses I bought. It's short which makes me feel young. Flowy, as you can see from the photo on the left side. YOUR left side. When the wind blows and my skirt got lifted a bit, it made me think of Marilyn Monroe. Ha ha... Just kidding. I'm nowhere like her. I'm just trying to make you understand how flowy and light the dress is.

Comfort Food

I'm going to talk about comfort food today. For me, many stuff can be comfort food and I'm going to show you one of them today!

I present you *drum roll* Nutella & Go!

Remember those days when you would spread nutella on your bread and go Ahhhhh? Well, I certainly did! Before travelling to Genting, I need to stock up. After all, the journey is at least 6 hours. This is just one of the snack which I took.

Taste just like nutella, only you don't have to spread it onto a slice of bread. Biscuit sticks are accompanied for this delicious spread. ^^

Where to buy? I got them from Candy Empire @ Vivocity.

Journey to Find that Perfect Cheesecake

How difficult is it to find a good piece of cheesecake? Just like a piece of good carrot cake, pretty difficult. Or maybe, I haven't venture out far enough. Eon years ago, I once had the opportunity to enjoy some good carrot cake from Coffee Club. Now, it sucks there. Well, we're not going to talk about carrot cake today. By the way, I meant the English kind of carrot cake and not those you get from coffeeshops or hawker centres.

Looks yummy but I tell you, looks can be deceiving. The red stuff you see there are jelly bits. I love blueberries but this one has nothing that I like. Rather, the blueberry cheesecake from Baker and Cook fares better.

Baker and Cook can be found at 77 Hillcrest Road, Greenwood, Singapore 288951.

Go make a trip there! You won't regret it. I'm sorry I don't have a photo for you here. I like the blueberry cheesecake, walnut bread and some pastries there. I miss that place... Near Baker and Cook is another interesting shop. I'll blog about that someday.

Have you come across tasty cheesecake? Do tell...

A Short Getaway

My dear friends, as you read this, I'm on my way for a short holiday. We have a holiday tomorrow and it'll be silly of me not to fully utilize that. My last holiday was in Apr/May this year and it's time for another one. The trip then was to Sydney! I'll blog about it when there's a chance to.

As for this short trip, I promise to tell you more when I'm back!

I can always take my laptop along with me and carry on blogging but hey! That wouldn't be a holiday now would it? ^^

Stay well, good, obedient, healthy and happy whilst I'm gone...

See you guys next week!

Yet Another LUSH Product

What's up for today? A foot mask!

Volcano Foot Mask

The Inside

Just in case you can't read it, it says:
Apply a thick coating to your whole foot (do both!) Wrapping them in plastic keeps the product from drying out. Leave for 10 minutes. Unwrap your feet and rub the mask into any areas of dead skin for a few minutes, then rinse the whole lot off.

Verdict!

There's a cooling sensation upon application. Felt nice. After 10 minutes, I rubbed the mask around my feet. The bits were fine. The cooling bit would have disappeared for most foot masks but not for this one here. Nope! It just wouldn't go away, at least not so soon. The cooling bit is still around for a good 15 minutes after rinsing! Nice... Not only that. My feet has never felt softer. I like it!

This foot mask retails for $20 for 125g.

LUSH...Many Fond Memories

It must have been years ago when I first knew about them. They're having a comeback here in Singapore. I'm not sure what caused the disappearance back then. Perhaps you can google if you're interested.

Anyway! I made a trip down to LUSH after reading an entry from My Women Stuff. Sure, I've heard about them before and I've purchased stuff from them before but I never venture more than soaps. I've tried Bohemian and Porridge, both very lovely shower soaps. Bohemian has a lemony smell which I like for shower as it's citrus and fresh. Porridge feels creamy so it's also nice for shower. Besides, it has little bits. It reminds me of Pulau Hitam. Ha ha... The bits I meant. I told myself that I'm only going to get a shampoo in the form of a soap and I ended up with some scrub, mask, cleanser cum exfoliator, shampoo and foot mask. If you're a guy, trust me. This is very normal for any women out there.

I'm going to blog about them individually. I'm referring to the stuff I bought from LUSH. Today will be a day on the cleanser cum exfoliator.

This retails for less than $29.50 for 230g.

The Inside

I've just found out that like M.A.C., LUSH is into recycling. Like the container for Angels on Bare Skin, bring 5 x empty containers back to LUSH in exchange for a tub of mask. Sounds great!

It's true when they say you only need a pea sized piece to work. I believe this should last me for many months. I like that it's kept in a tub and it's dry. If you want, you can always transfer some into a smaller container when you are travelling. When in contact with some water, it creams up and when you rub it on your face, it acts as an exfoliator as there's bits inside.

My face felt like there's a layer of film on it after washing the cleanser off. It felt slippery and it is something I've to get used to. After wiping my face dry, it felt soft and clean without any tight feeling. To me, a cleanser is a cleanser. So long as it doesn't dry me out and it cleans my face, I'm fine.

I say give LUSH a try! It's handmade, freshly produced. Having said that, I've to finish this tub before venturing to other type of cleansers. I don't want it to get spoilt though I'm not sure if it ever will.

Les Amis

Ahhhhh........ I accumulated my credit card points just so I can redeem for vouchers for Les Amis. All the raves, the oooo's and the ahhhhh's. I can't help but wonder if it's worth all the hype.

J and I went for the 4 courses @ $88.00 each instead of the 3 courses @ $68.00 each. There might be supplements involved, depending on the type of dish one choose.

The Entrance
Nice and Simple.

Sat our butt down and noticed this little thing.
Nice thought.

Seat next to us
See the little stool there meant for bags? How lovely.

Chandelier
Love them. So elegant.

Smoked Salmon
Complimentary Dish

Close-Up
Verdict: Nice

Walnut Bread and Sea Salt Bread
Verdict: Sea Salt Bread is nice. I had a 2nd one and it was served warm! Love it!

Left: Plain Butter
Right: Tomato Butter
Sprinkles: Sea Salt mixed with Pepper?
Verdict:
Tomato Butter - No Nice
Plain Butter: Lovely... So nice, I finished it
Sea Salt: Sea Salt loh... Nothing special

Segla - Margaux Bordeaux France
2006 Vintage

Some gravy are so delicate and delicious that one can't help but scrap it off the plate.
Solution - This spoon

See that it's flat?
Suitable to scoop gravy off the plate with.

Goose Foie Gras Parfait
Compressed White Peach, Pistachio Candy, Crispy Apple Bread
The same starter for J and myself
Verdict: Nice. This foie gras is better than those served at Mezza9 @ Hyatt Hotel.
Note: There's a supplement of $15.00 for the foie gras.

Cream of Seasonal Mushroom Soup
2nd appetizer for J

I tried and it's yummy.

My 2nd Appetizer
Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallops
Spicy Leek, Carrot - Ginger Jus, Baby Artichoke Barigoule
Verdict: I was told that the scallops were imported. Taste nothing like that. I was disappointed. Sure, the carrot sauce and all the rest of it taste good but hey! The main attraction here are the scallops!
Note: There's a supplement of $15.00 for this.

J's Main
Oven Roasted Black Angus Beef Tenderloin
Cepe Mushroom, Sweet Corn, "Pommes Rissolees"
Verdict: I didn't try but J said it was good.
Note: A supplement of $25.00 for this.

My Main
Pan Roasted Challans Duck Breast
Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower Puree, Speck-Onion Glaze
Verdict: Not bad. Don't quite like the cauliflower puree.
You must be thinking - Any supplement for this? Well, None! ^^

J's Dessert
Strawberries
Sorrel, Juniper
Verdict: J said it's not bad. The white wafer like stuff is made of milk.

Tarte Tatin
Hazelnut and Aged Sherry Liqueur
Verdict: I like this. There's a total of 5 thin layers of apple. Crispy at the bottom, warm and just nice without being overwhelming.

We ended off with coffee and tea. J had his black coffee as usual and for me, a tea. I'm just not a coffee lover.

Jasmine Pearl Scented Green Tea - 11 Layers
Premium grade with hints of soft vanilla notes and a flowery background. Delicate and pure.
Verdict: Indeed, it's nice with a slight scent. Don't ask me about the 11 layers. No idea.

I was taken aback that they are so detailed.
Just look! Heart shaped sugar!
Nice but not my cup of tea.
Call me a non-romantic but hey! Sugar regardless of shape, ends up the same place at the end of the day - The Toilet. I'm sorry I'm a spoiler now. Ha! Let's carry on...

This is on complimentary. It comes with the coffee and/or tea I guess. We didn't ask.
They were presented, we ate and be merry! ^^

Despite having a $100 voucher on hand, I ended up paying close to $280.00 for the meal. Oh well, it's not everyday that I get to spend so much on a meal. It's an experience and when people talk about Les Amis the next time round, I know it's not worth a 2nd visit. I'm better off with Au Petit Salut.

Sunday - 21.10.2012

This Sunday, we went to Vivocity. Movie this time round is End of Watch.

3/4 of the movie is boring.
I wouldn't pay to watch this if given another opportunity.

Lunch was at The Mussels Guys

J's Starter - Garden Salad

My Main - Steamed Mussels
I saw some chili bits in the picture but none was found here. Wasn't spicy at all.

J's Main - Fried Mussels
Total of 16 pcs. Yes, I counted
J was complaining. Said it's done wrong. The mussels are fried with a coat. Turn it around and you'll find that the mussels ain't fried. He said that this wasn't the case for countries in Europe. I can't comment much as I've never been to Europe. *shrugs*

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Today, I'd like to talk about one of the items in Bellabox - October 2012. The Bioderma Sensibio H2O Solution Micellaire.

I was given the travel-sized at 20ml. I blogged about it HERE.

I started to use it recently, give it a try. Well, it sure does not need water afterwards to clean it. I soak a piece of cotton pad with it and then I further separate the cotton pad into 4 thinner pieces. It takes away my foundation, blush, eye shadow and lipstick pretty easily. What I DO NOT like about this product here is that it does nothing to rid my eyes off the eye liner and mascara. I usually put on mascara from Lancome and that's waterproof. I had on the eye liner from KATE at the point of trying the Bioderma Sensibio H2O out. I was a little disappointed with it though. I guess I'll stick with my Fancl when it comes to make-up removal. Why use 2 products when you can settle it with 1? That's just my thought.

I see a lot more product left and I really don't wish to throw it down the bin. Hence, I decided to clean my brushes with it! I do a thorough clean-up for my brushes once a week with my Fancl cleansing oil. Now, I've found a cheaper and easier version. With this product, all I've gotta do is pour some into a cup and swirl the brushes in it. I can see all the stuff being washed away and my brushes sure looks clean. For brushes which I use to apply my eye liner, I clean them still with my Fancl cleansing oil.

I'm definitely buying this, purely to clean my brushes. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
